Middle of its segment, heavy for its output
The Astronergy ASTRO N7 series redefines energy efficiency standards, using advanced n-type TOPCon 4.0 technology and innovative, rectangular silicon cells. Thanks to this unique design, these modules offer significantly higher power density than traditional solutions, making them an ideal choice for investments with limited roof or ground space. A key differentiator of the series is the use of SMBB technology (Super Multi-Busbar), which, in combination with a high-transmittance glass coating, guarantees maximum yields even in difficult lighting conditions typical for the Polish climate. ASTRO N7 panels effectively solve the problem of power degradation over time, offering exceptional stability and longevity, which directly translates into minimizing LCOE energy costs throughout the entire installation life cycle. This series is primarily designed for demanding commercial projects and photovoltaic farms, where precision and the highest rate of return matter. What sets it apart from the competition is its exceptional resistance to micro-cracks and an excellent temperature coefficient, ensuring high power production even on hot days. Choosing this series means opting for a modern bifacial double-glass construction, which allows for additional energy generation from reflected radiation, ensuring the unrivaled profitability of modern photovoltaic systems.

N-type TOPCon 4.0 cells with Super Multi-Busbar technology achieve a Pmax temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C, outperforming standard PERC modules (-0.34 to -0.35%/°C). This translates into meaningfully higher energy yield on hot summer days, while the absence of LID/LeTID eliminates the step degradation typical of the first year of operation.
Astronergy guarantees retention of >87.4% of nominal power after 30 years, with annual degradation ≤0.4% (years 2–30) and <1% in year one. Peer comparables in this segment (HT-SAAE, Weran Solar) offer an identical warranty horizon; however, Astronergy's warranty backed by a third-party insurer (standard since 2023) strengthens its credibility for project finance transactions.
The bifacial double-glass construction enables additional energy yield from reflected irradiance — Astronergy claims up to 25% bifacial gain, which under optimal conditions (high-albedo ground surface, adequate mounting gap) pushes the module's effective power to ~750–769 W with no increase in BoS costs. Tempered glass on both sides simultaneously improves mechanical resistance and eliminates the risk of EVA encapsulant degradation.
Astronergy (Chint Group) ranked 6th in the BloombergNEF PV Module Bankability 2023 ranking with 56 GW of manufacturing capacity, placing it firmly among the world's leading module manufacturers. BNEF Tier 1 status is critical for projects seeking non-recourse bank financing — lenders and insurers accept these modules without additional technical due diligence.
The series achieves up to 23% module efficiency in the standard 66 rectangular-cell format (2,382×1,134 mm), matching the top peer comparables (HT-SAAE HT66-18X – 23%, Weran Solar LR7-72HTH – 23%). The Light Redirecting Film applied to the front glass further improves yield under low solar incidence angles, characteristic of Polish installations from autumn through spring.
Astronergy has already launched the ASTRO N7 2.0 (625–650 W, efficiency 23.1–24.1%), which surpasses the N7 series reviewed here (600–620 W, 22.2–23%) by approximately 1 percentage point in efficiency and up to 30 W in peak power. For new projects commissioned in 2025–2026, it is worth comparing the availability and pricing of the N7 2.0, as it may deliver a lower LCOE for the same installation footprint.
- At 22.4% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical TOPCon 600-650W modules
- Power density of 224.0 W/m² is 3.7 W/m² below TOPCon 600-650W median (227.7 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- Temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C matches the TOPCon 600-650W median
- In the top 34% for efficiency among all TOPCon panels
