Strong in heat, no clear weak spot
The Q-SUN Solar Qrystal Max N12 (N-type) 640-670W series is designed for maximum energy yield on limited space - where every square meter counts. The use of N-type cells helps minimize typical power losses over time and maintain the stable operation of the system for many years, which realistically improves the return on investment. The modules utilize bifacial technology, allowing them to also generate power from reflected light, which is particularly beneficial on bright roofs, membranes, and ground-mounted structures.
The TOPCon architecture is also noteworthy, as it supports high efficiency under variable solar conditions - which is important given the typical Polish weather, frequent cloud cover, and morning or afternoon shadows. The series is a good choice for PV farms, large industrial rooftops, and commercial projects, where a high yield and predictable production are the priority. It distinguishes itself from the competition through the combination of N-type, bifacial, and TOPCon technology in the high-power segment, which is focused on achieving a better energy balance throughout the entire lifespan of the system.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial and utility-scale.
Top 2% of the N-type 650-700 W segment, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 13th in the whole database.
Module efficiency of 22.6–23.7% clearly exceeds comparable series at the same 670 Wp power class - Hiwatt HW-M12/132H (21.6%), Techwise Summit Series (21.57%) and Resun RS9H-M (21.57%). The 1-2 percentage-point gap translates into a meaningfully smaller roof area needed for the same installed capacity.
N-type technology limits the LID/LeTID losses typical of PERC and performs better at high temperatures, delivering a more predictable annual yield in Poland's climate, which includes significant summer heat and partial shading periods.
The dual-sided design captures additional reflected light, which is especially beneficial on bright industrial roofs, EPDM/PVC membranes, and elevated-mount ground installations.
The manufacturer offers a 30-year power warranty - 5 years longer than the standard 25-year terms typical of most comparable P-type/PERC series in the 640-670W segment, improving the long-term LCOE balance.
The TOPCon architecture supports more stable performance under diffuse and variable irradiance, which matters in Poland given the high share of overcast days and frequent morning/afternoon shading.
The series launched in 2023 and was discontinued in 2024 - secondary-market availability is limited, and warranty servicing over the stated 15/30-year coverage period may be more difficult to secure.
Q-SUN Solar (founded 2014) does not appear on BloombergNEF's bankable Tier 1 manufacturer list, unlike some competing brands in the high-power segment - this can complicate bank financing for commercial projects and PV farms where Tier 1 status is often a lender requirement.
- Efficiency of 23.3% matches the N-type 650-700W median
- At 233.2 W/m² power density, roof space requirements are typical for N-type 650-700W panels
- Temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C vs median -0.29%/°C means ~2% less power loss at 65°C
- At 35.5 kg (2.0 kg above N-type 650-700W median of 33.5 kg), requires checking roof load capacity
- 80% bifaciality enables rear-side power generation, boosting yield by 4-12% on reflective surfaces

Datasheet charts
Measured curves published by Q-SUN Solar in this model's datasheet. A chart carrying a wattage was measured on that variant alone - only the ones that describe 660 Wp appear here. The rest cover the whole series.
Simulations
Degradation from this panel's own datasheet figures. No inverter, soiling or shading losses.
Model: bifaciality × albedo × 0.6 view factor. A first-order estimate, not a yield simulation.
