Strong in heat, no clear weak spot
Jolywood JW Plus series is designed to maximize yield in real-world conditions - where performance isn’t measured just by wattage on the label, but also by stable operation year after year. These are bifacial modules based on n-type TOPCon cells, which handle typical operational challenges better: reduced power output under lower irradiance, losses in high temperatures, and performance degradation over time. Dual-sided light absorption helps utilize reflected light from the ground surface, which is particularly beneficial on light-coloured roofs, rooftop structures, and anywhere where surface reflectivity can be controlled.
The approach to longevity is also noteworthy - the series prioritizes low degradation and resistance to phenomena like LID, while the construction supports high reliability over a long operational lifespan. JW Plus is an outstanding choice for commercial and industrial installations, utility-scale solar farms, and demanding rooftop applications, where yield, predictability, and project profitability are key.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial, utility-scale, shaded-installations and hot-climate.
Top 7% of the TOPCon 600-650 W segment, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 1,309th in the whole database.
N-type TOPCon cells deliver a temperature coefficient of Pmax of -0.28%/°C versus -0.35 to -0.45%/°C for standard PERC modules. This translates into measurably higher energy yield during summer heat and eliminates the LID degradation issue inherent to p-type technology.
Jolywood guarantees no more than 1% power loss in year 1 and ≤0.4%/year thereafter, maintaining a minimum of 87.4% of rated power at year 30. The 30-year warranty horizon places JW Plus in the premium tier for LCOE predictability over the full project lifecycle.
JW Plus modules achieve ~80% bifaciality, delivering a real-world energy gain of 5–15% over monofacial equivalents in ground-mounted applications with albedo of 0.25–0.5 (e.g., white roofing membranes, light-colored gravel). Most beneficial for utility-scale and C&I ground-mount systems.
Jolywood maintains BNEF Tier-1 Bankable Manufacturer status as of Q1 2026, evidencing module supply to ≥6 projects above 10 MW financed by independent commercial banks. Publicly listed since 2014 with a market cap of ~USD 1.68 billion and total assets of ~USD 2.6 billion, significantly reducing warranty counterparty risk.
Jolywood earned Top Performer status in the Kiwa PVEL PV Module Reliability Scorecard for the third consecutive year (2022–2024), covering thermal cycling, damp heat, PID resistance, and mechanical load tests. This independent third-party validation goes beyond manufacturer datasheets.
Despite having a Polish distributor (Energia Pomorze) and a LinkedIn-listed Jolywood Europe showcase, the after-sales and warranty service network in Central Europe remains significantly smaller than those of LONGi or JA Solar, which operate regional technical support hubs. For large C&I or utility installations (>1 MWp), this may translate into longer warranty claim resolution times.
JW Plus launched in 2024, meaning there is no multi-season field performance record from Central European continental climate installations. The stated 0.4%/year degradation rate is backed by PVEL lab testing, not real-world data spanning full winter-summer cycles in the target market.
- Efficiency of 23.1% matches the TOPCon 600-650W median
- 231.4 W/m² power density - 3.7 W/m² more than TOPCon 600-650W median (227.7 W/m²), more power per roof area
- Temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C matches the TOPCon 600-650W median
- 80% bifaciality enables rear-side power generation, boosting yield by 4-12% on reflective surfaces
- In the top 11% for efficiency among all TOPCon panels
