Strong in heat, heavy for its output
The Jolywood JW Plus (JW-HD132N-R2 595-625W) series are modules based on N-type TOPCon cells, designed for high energy production in real-world conditions - even when the installation does not have ideal sunlight. Thanks to the bifacial glass-glass construction, the panel can also utilize reflected light from the ground, which helps increase yield on PV farms, flat roofs, and ground-mounted structures with a light-colored base.
In practice, this series addresses typical challenges of large projects: yield fluctuations on cloudy days, faster power degradation, and the risk of performance drops in harsh working environments. The applied N-type solutions support low degradation and stable operation over time, while the glass-glass structure improves mechanical and operational durability.
The JW Plus is a good choice for investors and contractors looking to maximize production from the same surface area, prioritizing good performance in low light conditions, and seeking a module that is clearly more advanced technologically than standard P-type panels.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial, utility-scale and hot-climate.
Weight-limited structures, tight roof space and roofs where every square metre has to count.
Top 7% of the TOPCon 600-650 W segment, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 1,309th in the whole database.
Bottom 16% of the TOPCon 600-650 W segment, against a median of 53.1.
Bottom 23% of the TOPCon 600-650 W segment, against a median of 22.80%.
Bottom 23% of the TOPCon 600-650 W segment, against a median of 227.7.
The 625W variant achieves 23.1% module efficiency, matching Longi Hi-MO 7 (23.1%) and only 0.04 percentage points below DAH Solar DHN-66Z16/DG (23.14%). The series clearly outperforms Leapton LP182 (22.36%), placing it in the top tier of high-power 132-cell TOPCon modules.
N-type cells deliver ≤1% first-year degradation and ≤0.40%/year linear annual degradation — versus ≤2% and ≤0.55%/year for typical PERC modules. This results in a guaranteed ≥87.4% of rated power after 30 years, while standard PERC modules typically guarantee only ~84.8% through year 25.
A Pmax temperature coefficient of −0.30%/°C is 0.05 percentage points better than standard PERC modules (−0.35%/°C). At Central European summer module temperatures of 55–75°C, this meaningfully increases daily energy yield without any changes to system design.
Bifacial design enables up to ~30% additional backside power generation (BiFi gain) on top of the nameplate rating on high-albedo ground surfaces. The glass-glass build raises mechanical resistance to 5,400 Pa (snow load) and 2,400 Pa (wind load), exceeding IEC 61215 minimum thresholds — a strong fit for ground-mount farms and flat commercial rooftops.
Jolywood guarantees ≥87.4% of rated power after 30 years (0.40%/year linear), one of the longest warranty coverages in the TOPCon segment. Tier-1 bankable status (BNEF Q1 2026) enables project financing by independent commercial banks without additional module insurance requirements.
The glass-glass construction results in a module weight of ~33.3 kg — roughly 15–20% heavier than comparable glass-backsheet variants (27–30 kg). Rooftop retrofits may require structural load verification, and the added weight increases installation labor, making it a relevant BoS cost factor at scale on existing buildings.
Jolywood's annual shipment volumes are significantly lower than Longi (~85 GW/year) or Jinko Solar (~95 GW/year), which can limit supply flexibility and renegotiation leverage for procurement contracts above 50 MWp. Large-scale EPC projects should verify manufacturing allocation well in advance of scheduled delivery windows.
- At 22.4% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical TOPCon 600-650W modules
- 224.0 W/m² power density is 3.7 W/m² below TOPCon 600-650W median (227.7 W/m²) - requires larger installation area
- At -0.28%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for TOPCon 600-650W panels
- Bifaciality factor of 80% can add 4-12% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
- #4774 for efficiency, #1309 for temperature performance out of 14005 panels
