Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The MY Solar Half Cell series redefines performance standards through the use of advanced half-cut cell technology. The use of half-cut cells allows for a significant reduction in energy losses resulting from internal resistance, which directly translates into higher yields from the installation even in less favorable weather conditions. These panels deal perfectly with the common problem of partial shading. Thanks to the physical division of the module into two independent sections, shading one part does not completely block energy production, which is crucial on roofs with complex geometry or near tall obstacles. Additionally, multi-busbar (MBB) technology effectively shortens the electron flow path, which not only increases efficiency but also minimizes the risk of micro-cracks in the silicon structure. This product stands out from the competition with its low temperature coefficient, which ensures that the modules maintain high efficiency even during extreme summer heat. This solution is dedicated to investors seeking high mechanical durability and financial stability for their project. The use of PERC technology supports better absorption of diffused light, allowing the system to generate real profits from early morning until dusk, providing a fast return on investment in both the residential sector and demanding commercial installations.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial, utility-scale, shaded-installations and hot-climate.
Hot climates and owners who want a long output guarantee.
Bottom 3% of the 600-800 W band, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 10,419th in the whole database.
Bottom 6% of the 600-800 W band, against a median of 30 yrs. Ranked 9,798th in the whole database.
Splitting cells in half lowers internal resistance losses and reduces hot-spot temperature by up to approx. 25°C compared to full-cell modules, resulting in higher and more stable energy yield.
Physically dividing the module into two independent electrical sections means shading on one half does not fully halt production from the other, which is practically relevant on roofs with chimneys, dormers, or nearby obstructions.
An increased number of busbars shortens the electron flow path, improving current-collection efficiency while also reducing the risk of silicon microcracks during transport and installation.
The panels maintain higher efficiency under high summer temperatures than modules with a standard temperature coefficient, which matters on dark roofs or in warmer climates.
Five power variants within one series (660-700 Wp) at 21.1-22.3% efficiency allow matching the panel to a specific roof area without changing installation technology.
The series' peak efficiency is 22.3%, while comparable 700 W competitor modules (Luxor Solar HJT 22.74%, Sunket 22.5%, Mysolar USA TOPCon 22.53%) achieve higher values. This reflects the use of older PERC technology rather than N-type TOPCon/HJT.
Unlike all three comparable series on the market (Luxor, Sunket, Mysolar USA), which offer bifacial modules, the Half Cell series is monofacial only, forgoing the additional rear-side energy gain from reflected light (typically 5-15% depending on ground albedo).
MY Solar currently does not hold BNEF Tier-1 bankable manufacturer status, which may limit bank financing availability for larger commercial installations and affect investment insurance terms.
- At 22.3% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical database modules
- Temperature coefficient of -0.35%/°C is 0.05pp worse than database median (-0.30%/°C) - higher losses in summer heat
- In the top 36% for efficiency among all N-type panels
