Strong in heat, short guarantee
The Longi Solar LR7-72HTH 605-615M (Hi-MO X6 Explorer) series was designed to maximize the yield per square meter, where every module and every kilowatt-hour counts. Its key feature is HPBC (back contact) cell technology, where the conductive paths are moved to the rear of the cells. This allows the front side of the module to capture more light, and the aesthetics align with the real improvement in performance under suboptimal sunlight conditions.
In practice, this translates to higher energy production in high temperatures and overcast conditions and reduced losses due to optical shadowing typical of conventional designs. An additional advantage is greater resistance to micro-cracking, thanks to connection solutions that limit stress within the structure.
These are modules for installations that need to operate reliably and predictably - especially for commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop projects, on factory halls and warehouses, and in large ground-mounted systems, where reducing the number of panels and BOS costs provides quick economic effects.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial, utility-scale and hot-climate.
Owners who want a long output guarantee.
Top 14% of the N-type 600-650 W segment, against a median of -0.290.
Top 17% of the N-type 600-650 W segment, against a median of 52.7.
Bottom 4% of the N-type 600-650 W segment, against a median of 30 yrs. Ranked 9,798th in the whole database.
Conductive paths are moved to the rear of the cell, eliminating front-side optical shading and delivering higher energy yield under low-irradiance conditions and elevated temperatures compared to conventional PERC designs.
Efficiency up to 22.8% clearly outperforms competing series built on older cell technologies, such as GCL-M12/60H (21.7%) and Risen TITAN (21.7%), at the same 615 Wp maximum power.
Longi Solar has operated since 2000 and is one of the world's largest module manufacturers, confirming its Tier-1 bankable status - an important factor for financing C&I and utility-scale projects.
N-type cells are less susceptible to light- and temperature-induced degradation than older P-type PERC cells, resulting in more stable energy production over the system's lifetime.
Module power up to 615 Wp reduces the number of panels needed to reach a target system capacity, lowering BoS costs (wiring, racking, labor) in C&I rooftop and ground-mount projects.
The series launched in 2024 and was discontinued in 2025, meaning limited availability going forward and potential difficulties with warranty service and matching replacement modules in the future.
The module is monofacial, forgoing the additional rear-side yield gain typical of bifacial N-type modules increasingly used in the large ground-mount installations this series targets.
The 15-year product and 25-year power warranty are shorter than the 30-year linear warranties now common among premium N-type panels, which can affect LCOE calculations for long-term C&I projects.
- At 22.4% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical N-type 600-650W modules
- Power density of 224.0 W/m² is 3.7 W/m² below N-type 600-650W median (227.7 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- Temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C matches the N-type 600-650W median
- Weight of 28.5 kg (4.0 kg below N-type 600-650W median of 32.5 kg) allows easier transport and roof mounting
- In the top 34% for efficiency among all N-type panels
