The Trina Solar Vertex N (TSM-NEG21C.20 695-720W) series was designed with large-scale PV farms and major installations in mind, where maximizing output per hectare and achieving a real reduction in energy costs throughout the entire lifecycle are key priorities. The application of N-type i-TOPCon cells translates to excellent performance at high temperatures and more stable output over the long term, helping to mitigate the risk of underestimating yields in financial models. Another key advantage is the high power output with a lower voltage configuration - in practice, this simplifies string design and reduces BOS costs, especially at large scales.

The modules feature bifacial generation, enabling better utilization of reflected light on light-colored ground surfaces, gravel, or with appropriately selected infrastructure. They are also distinguished by their dual-glass construction, valued for its environmental resilience and longevity in demanding conditions. This is the series for investors and EPCs seeking fewer modules per MW, simpler installation logistics, and predictable performance year after year.

About the Vertex N (TSM-NEG21C.20 695–720W) series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this module's own.

What's the difference between N-type i-TOPCon technology in Trina Vertex N panels and standard PERC cells?
N-type i-TOPCon cells have a lower degradation rate and better high-temperature performance than conventional P-type PERC cells. In practice, this means more stable energy production over the panel's lifetime and lower risk of power loss on hot days. For large PV farms, this translates into more predictable financial forecasts and higher real-world annual yield.
Is the Trina Vertex N TSM-NEG21C.20 suitable for rooftop installation, or is it strictly a utility-scale panel?
This module is designed primarily for large ground-mount installations and PV farms. At 2384×1303 mm and 38.3 kg, it's too large and heavy for most typical sloped or residential rooftops. It performs best in large-scale EPC projects where maximizing power per hectare and lowering per-watt installation cost are the priorities.
What does the low-voltage design of the Vertex N mean for installation costs (BOS)?
The module combines high power output (up to 720 Wp) with a design optimized for lower operating string voltage. This allows longer strings without exceeding inverter voltage limits, reducing the number of components needed - wiring, connectors, and mounting structures. Trina states this can cut BOS and LCOE costs by 2-6%, which adds up significantly on large farms.
What warranty comes with the Trina Vertex N TSM-NEG21C.20 panels?
Trina offers a 12-year product warranty along with a 30-year linear power warranty, guaranteeing at least 87.4% of nominal power at the end of that period. This is standard for the latest generation of N-type modules from tier-1 manufacturers, giving investors confidence in long-term project profitability.
Does the bifacial design of the Vertex N actually increase energy yield?
Yes, the dual-glass bifacial construction captures additional light reflected from the ground on the rear side of the panel. The biggest gains, ranging from a few to over ten percent, come with light-colored, gravel, or white ground surfaces and sufficient mounting height above the ground. On dark ground or low-clearance mounting, the effect is much smaller.
How does the Trina Vertex N perform in high summer temperatures?
Thanks to i-TOPCon technology, the module has a low power temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C, better than typical PERC panels. This means a smaller performance drop during heat waves and more stable energy output in hot months, which matters when planning yield estimates for installations in warmer climates.
