Middle of its segment, needs the roof space
The Phono Solar Monocrystalline 132 series consists of modules based on a 132 half-cut cell configuration, designed for high performance in real-world conditions, even when partial shading or uneven sunlight exposure occurs on the roof. The use of half-cut technology reduces resistive losses and improves the stability of the entire string, resulting in more predictable annual energy yields. Many variants also feature multi-busbar connection, which improves current collection from the cell surface and helps minimize the impact of micro-cracks on module performance.
The modules also stand out for their resistance to environmental conditions - the robust construction and sealed junction box make them easy to install on pitched and flat roofs, as well as in ground-mounted systems. This makes them a good choice for customers who prioritize consistent aesthetics (e.g., in full black versions) and a solution that is easy to integrate with popular inverters and optimizers. The series is suitable for both residential and commercial projects, where consistent quality and reliability are essential.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, commercial, utility-scale and shaded-installations.
Roofs where every square metre has to count, tight roof space and weight-limited structures.
Bottom 1% of the TOPCon 650-700 W segment, against a median of 223.7. Ranked 10,011th in the whole database.
Bottom 1% of the TOPCon 650-700 W segment, against a median of 22.40%. Ranked 10,014th in the whole database.
Bottom 2% of the TOPCon 650-700 W segment, against a median of 53.2. Ranked 12,196th in the whole database.
N-type TOPCon cells in a 132 half-cut layout reduce resistive losses and improve partial-shading tolerance compared to older PERC modules. Many variants also feature multi-busbar interconnection, which lowers the impact of microcracks on the performance of the whole string.
The 730 Wp variant reaches 23.5% efficiency - identical to the best comparable series from the same period (Huasun Himalaya V-ocean, Recom Lynx Series, Hiwatt Solar HW-M12/132G), meaning no performance gap versus the top of the market.
Phono Solar has operated since 2004 and has been continuously listed on BloombergNEF's Tier-1 list since 2014 based on 'bankability strength', which supports project financing by banks and leasing institutions.
16 power variants from 500 to 730 Wp allow the module to be matched to space-constrained residential roofs as well as large commercial or ground-mount projects without switching technology platforms.
A robust frame and sealed junction box ease installation on sloped roofs, flat roofs, and ground-mount systems, while full black variants meet demand for a consistent building aesthetic.
The series was manufactured between 2021 and 2023 and has since been discontinued by the manufacturer. This means limited availability (only existing distributor stock) and potential difficulty with warranty service and matching replacement parts going forward.
The product (workmanship) warranty is 15 years, while newer N-type TOPCon series launched from 2024 onward increasingly align the product warranty with the 25-year performance warranty. The power warranty itself (25-30 years, depending on variant) remains competitive.
- Module efficiency of 20.9% is 1.5pp below average for TOPCon 650-700W panels (median: 22.4%)
- Power density of 209.2 W/m² is 14.4 W/m² below TOPCon 650-700W median (223.7 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- At -0.29%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for TOPCon 650-700W panels
- At 38.7 kg (4.1 kg above TOPCon 650-700W median of 34.6 kg), requires checking roof load capacity
- #10014 for efficiency, #2165 for temperature performance out of 14005 panels
