Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The Hanersun Hitouch 5 (Full Black) series consists of modules designed with a focus on both high aesthetics and real energy production gains, particularly in locations where the installation is easily visible. The Full Black variant stands out for its cohesive appearance, thanks to its dark finishing elements, which make it easy to match with modern roofs and facades without the "gridded" effect typical of many panels.
However, in practice, design is not the only factor. The use of TOPCon (N-type) cells or a well-designed half-cut architecture, depending on the series version, translates into better performance in more challenging conditions. The modules are designed to minimize losses and maximize energy yield during periods of lower sunlight, which will be appreciated by users in the Polish climate.
The MBB with half-cut and tight cell interconnection also contribute to stability and reduce the risk of operational problems. In the two-sided versions, the bifacial technology provides an additional advantage, ideal for roofs, pergolas, carports, and ground-mounted installations.

The uniform dark finish across the frame, backsheet, and cells eliminates the visual contrast typical of standard modules. This solution is especially valued in high-visibility installations — mansard roofs, building facades, and projects with architectural requirements.
Splitting cells in half reduces resistive losses by approximately 2% and limits the impact of partial shading on overall string output. The multi-busbar (MBB) architecture improves resistance to microcracks and enhances current collection under diffuse irradiance conditions.
The top variant in the series achieves 20.74% module efficiency — identical to the EGing STAR SERIES (108-cell, max 405 Wp, 20.74%) and the VSUN405-108BMH-DG (20.74%), placing the series at the upper boundary of the comparable 108-cell PERC segment.
The manufacturer guarantees a linear degradation rate over 25 years — the standard for PERC modules in this class — ensuring predictable energy production throughout the full lifecycle of the installation.
Production ceased around 2023. New-stock availability on the market is limited or nonexistent, making it difficult to expand an existing installation with identical modules or to replace failed panels on a like-for-like basis. There is also a risk of limited technical support and reduced manufacturer service availability.
P-type PERC cells exhibit a light-induced degradation (LID) rate of 0.5–1% in the first year, whereas competing N-type TOPCon modules (e.g., the Hanersun Hitouch 5N introduced concurrently) achieve less than 0.1%. The power temperature coefficient for PERC is typically -0.35%/°C — worse than N-type (~-0.30%/°C) — resulting in lower energy yield on hot days.
A 12-year product warranty falls below the current industry standard — leading Tier-1 manufacturers (JA Solar, Trina Solar, LONGi) offer 15-year product warranties on comparable PERC modules. This gap is significant when designing systems with bank financing or lease structures.
Hanersun achieved BNEF Tier-1 status only in Q2 2023 — and exclusively for its 600 W+ product lines. The Hitouch 5 series (385–405 Wp, PERC) was not covered by this rating throughout its entire production period (2021–2023), which may restrict financing options for projects requiring modules from bankable manufacturers.
- Efficiency of 20.0% is 0.5pp above the PERC 0-400W median (19.4%)
- Power density of 199.7 W/m² packs 5.3 W/m² more into the same footprint vs PERC 0-400W median (194.4 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.38%/°C is 0.02pp worse than PERC 0-400W median (-0.36%/°C) - higher losses in summer heat
- Weight of 21.5 kg is typical for PERC 0-400W panels
- In the top 88% for efficiency among all PERC panels
