Solid all-round for its segment
The Hanersun Hitouch 5 (HN18-54H) series consists of compact, monofacial modules based on PERC monocell technology, designed for high energy production without complicating the installation project. The use of half-cut construction and a multi-busbar architecture effectively reduces resistive losses and improves performance under partial shading - which is important on roofs with dormers, chimneys, or extensive ventilation systems. A key feature of this series is the high-density interconnection of cells with minimal spacing, which supports the stability of parameters and the aesthetic appearance of the module layout. Thanks to its adaptable format, the Hitouch 5 (HN18-54H) is well-suited for single-family homes, small businesses, and the modernization of existing installations. An additional advantage is lower risk of hot spots, which translates into greater reliability over the long term and more predictable yields in Polish conditions.

The best-performing variant in the series achieves 21.25% efficiency, placing it on par with direct competitors – Aptos Solar DNA-108 (21.25%) and LEDVANCE M395~415P54LM (21.25%). It trails only the AE Solar AURORA AE MD-108 by a marginal 0.03 percentage points, a difference that is negligible in practical installation terms.
The combination of half-cut technology and multi-busbar (MBB) design reduces series resistance and splits the cell current in two, minimizing resistive losses and improving tolerance to partial shading – a significant advantage on rooftops with dormers, chimneys, or antennas common in Polish single-family residential construction.
The manufacturer guarantees retention of at least 89.4% of nominal power output after 25 years of operation. This figure exceeds the typical industry benchmark for PERC technology (84–87% after 25 years), resulting in better-quantified financial risk when modeling IRR for prosumer installations.
The module width of ~1,134 mm and weight of ~21 kg are compatible with standard racking systems (Schletter, K2, Esdec) widely used in Poland. This format simplifies mounting structure selection and reduces BoS costs on typical gable roofs with rafter spacing of 80–100 cm.
Production ended in 2023 (released 2021, end-of-life 2023). Availability of new modules relies exclusively on distributor inventory stocks. Over a 25-year power warranty horizon, replacing a failed module may be impossible without switching series, creating risks of electrical mismatch and aesthetic inconsistency within the installation.
P-type PERC cells are susceptible to light-induced degradation (LID), resulting in 1–3% power loss during initial exposure hours, and degrade at approximately 0.45% per year, whereas N-type TOPCon degrades at ~0.4% annually and is free of LID. Hanersun itself replaced this series with the Hitouch 5N (N-TOPCon, up to 22.8% efficiency). In 2024, TOPCon surpassed 66% of global manufacturing capacity, making PERC a sunset technology.
Hanersun provides a 12-year product warranty, while JA Solar, LONGi Solar, and Trina Solar offer 15-year product warranties in the equivalent segment. For installations operated under a net-billing model, this means three fewer years of coverage during the financially critical period of system payback.
Hanersun attained BNEF Tier 1 classification in May 2023 exclusively for its 600 W+ product lines; the HN18-54H series is not covered by that ranking. For installations financed through green loans or leasing, some financial institutions require Tier-1 modules, which may disqualify this series from eligible financing or result in higher insurance premiums.
