Middle of its segment, heavy for its output
AIKO Neostar (AIKO-A-MAH54Db) was designed to achieve maximum energy yield from the same rooftop surface - where every square meter counts and real energy production under varying conditions is key. The key difference is the application of ABC (all-back-contact) technology, or a cell architecture without visible front connections. This allows the module to utilize light more effectively while simultaneously offering a uniform, aesthetically pleasing surface - especially important in premium projects.
Neostar also features N-type cells, selected when investors expect stable performance over the years and reduced sensitivity to typical degradation phenomena. In practice, this translates to a more predictable yield and easier planning for self-consumption.
In everyday use, you'll notice optimized performance under partial shading, which is useful on rooftops with chimneys, gable ends, or nearby trees. The glass-glass construction increases resistance to environmental conditions and micro-cracks, while full black facilitates matching modern architecture. This is a series for single-family homes and small commercial installations, where efficiency and appearance hold equal importance.

Weight-limited structures.
Bottom 3% of the Back Contact 450-500 W segment, against a median of 48.0. Ranked 6,401st in the whole database.
The module achieves an efficiency of 23.3%, surpassing comparable models such as Sunlike SKT455 and IBC Solar LS-TA2 (both 22.8%, +0.5 pp), as well as Waaree ARKA (20.93%, +2.37 pp). This means a higher power output from the same roof area, without the need to install additional panels.
The ABC N-type technology offers a temperature coefficient of −0.26%/°C, which is significantly better than typical TOPCon (−0.35%/°C) or PERC (−0.45%/°C). This translates to a significantly higher energy yield on hot, summer days – precisely when the installation has the greatest opportunity to generate the most energy.
The manufacturer guarantees a degradation rate of less than 1% in the first year and ≤0.35%/year in subsequent years – over a 30-year warranty period. Comparable products (Waaree ARKA, Sunlike SKT) offer standard 25-year warranties, which, when calculating the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) over a 25–30-year period, makes this series more financially attractive.
The absence of electrodes on the front of the cell (All Back Contact) eliminates shading losses from metallic pathways and maximizes photon absorption. Since March 2023, AIKO has consistently held the top position in TaiyangNews' Top Solar Modules ranking for mass production efficiency (current record: 24.8% for a commercial module).
The dual-layer construction increases resistance to micro-cracks, moisture, and mechanical stress compared to standard glass-foil modules. For roofs with large temperature fluctuations or exposure to moisture (coastal or mountainous climates), this represents a significant advantage over modules with a backsheet.
The scope of this series includes only the 455 W version, without the option to choose a lower or higher power within the same series. Installers designing systems with an unconventional number of modules or limited space may find it difficult to optimize their choice without combining it with another series.
The module has a glass-glass construction, but does not utilize bifaciality (is_bifacial = false). In ground-mounted or rooftop installations using light-colored materials, where a light surface typically provides an additional 5-15% gain, a glass-glass module without bifaciality does not fully realize the benefits of this design.
- At 23.3% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical Back Contact 450-500W modules
- At 233.0 W/m² power density, roof space requirements are typical for Back Contact 450-500W panels
- At -0.26%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for Back Contact 450-500W panels
- In the top 7% for efficiency among all Back Contact panels
