Middle of its segment, modest efficiency
The Haitai Solar JT SLk(B) 690-720W series is designed for large-scale installations where maximizing energy output from a given area and stable performance in varying conditions are crucial. The use of N-type HJT technology results in very high efficiency and excellent resistance to typical operational issues, such as accelerated power degradation over time. The modules have a bifacial design, allowing them to also utilize reflected light from the ground - a significant advantage on bright roofs, gravel, and ground-mounted farms.
In practice, the JT SLk(B) series addresses a common dilemma for investors: how to minimize BOS (Balance of System) and installation costs without compromising energy production. The high power output of a single module and the 1500 V system facilitate the design of longer strings and reduce the number of components in the installation. Another advantage is the IP68 rating for the junction box, which enhances reliability in harsh conditions. This makes it a good choice for PV farms, C&I (Commercial & Industrial) installations, and projects focused on a quick return on investment.

HJT technology delivers a Pmax temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C, a clear advantage over TOPCon (~-0.31%/°C) and PERC (~-0.35%/°C) modules. In practice, this translates to meaningfully higher energy yield on hot days — the gap versus PERC can reach 2.5–4.5% in annual MWh for installations in warm climates or high-irradiance locations.
HJT modules achieve a bifaciality factor of up to ~95%, compared to 80–90% for standard TOPCon modules. The higher bifaciality factor directly increases the contribution of albedo-reflected irradiance, which is especially valuable in ground-mounted systems with light-colored ground cover or gravel.
The manufacturer guarantees power retention of ≥90.3% after 30 years of operation — well above the industry standard for TOPCon and PERC modules, where typical 30-year warranties hover around 87–88%. This makes the series particularly attractive from a long-term project LCOE perspective.
Support for a 1500 V system voltage enables longer string designs, reducing inverter count and cabling runs — directly lowering BoS and installation costs. The IP68-rated junction box maintains a watertight seal even under prolonged submersion, minimizing failure risk in demanding environments such as ground-mounted farms and large industrial rooftops.
Haitai Solar has appeared on the BNEF Tier 1 list since Q2 2025, satisfying the tightened eligibility criteria (minimum 6 projects ≥10 MW financed on a non-recourse basis by 6 different banks per quarter). This status significantly facilitates project finance for C&I and utility-scale PV installations through lending institutions.
HJT modules are manufactured through a more cost-intensive process than TOPCon, resulting in a higher purchase cost per Wp. In the 690–720 Wp segment, TOPCon-based peer comparables (Renesola RS9, DMEGC DMxxxG12T) at similar efficiencies (23.18–23.2%) are typically available at lower price points, which may negatively impact IRR in capex-sensitive projects.
Haitai Solar only achieved Tier 1 status in Q2 2025, meaning its bankability history is considerably shorter than that of segment leaders (JA Solar, LONGi, Trina Solar — continuously Tier 1 for over a decade). For projects subject to rigorous lender due diligence requirements, this may represent a risk factor requiring additional verification.
- At 22.7% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical HJT 700-750W modules
- At 226.9 W/m², this panel generates 3.2 W/m² less per unit area than HJT 700-750W median (230.2 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.24%/°C matches the HJT 700-750W median
- Weight of 37.3 kg is typical for HJT 700-750W panels
- Bifaciality factor of 85% can add 4-13% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
