Middle of its segment, heavy for its output
The Axitec AXIbiperfect GXXL TB Alpine series is designed for installations where standard modules quickly lose their advantage - in areas with heavy snow loads, strong winds, and those exposed to intense UV radiation. These modules, with a glass-glass construction, enhance rigidity and reduce the risk of microcracks and accelerated degradation in harsh operating conditions. The use of N-Type TOPCon cells helps maintain stable performance over time and better cope with typical losses seen in older technologies. Furthermore, the bifacial design allows for the effective use of reflected light from the ground - especially in areas with frequent snow or light surfaces. A key feature of this series is its high mechanical strength and suitability for use in alpine environments (including at high altitudes). This makes it a smart choice for PV farms, industrial rooftops, and projects in snowy areas, where predictable performance and long-term durability are essential.

Commercial, utility-scale and cold-climate.
Weight-limited structures, roofs where every square metre has to count and tight roof space.
Bottom 1% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 53.8. Ranked 13,621st in the whole database.
Bottom 3% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 224.4. Ranked 8,790th in the whole database.

The module has been certified for installation at altitudes up to 3,000 m above sea level, making it one of the few modules in the 570–585 Wp segment with verified approval for extreme mountain environments. This translates into broad project applicability across alpine and high-altitude zones.
The glass-glass construction with fully tempered 2×2.8 mm panes achieves hail resistance class HW4 — among the highest ratings available. Standard glass-backsheet modules use a single 3.2 mm front glass with no rear glass protection, making this series exceptionally robust against mechanical stress in demanding operating conditions.
Axitec guarantees module efficiency of ≥87.4% after 30 years, exceeding the industry-standard 25-year power warranty offered by most manufacturers (e.g., the Risen RSM144-9 carries a 25-year power warranty). This reduces financial risk in DCF models for long-term project financing.
N-type TOPCon technology delivers a Pmax temperature coefficient of -0.31%/°C, outperforming typical PERC cells (~-0.35%/°C). In alpine regions where high-irradiance days and elevated temperatures alternate with cool conditions, this difference has a measurable impact on annual energy yield.
Combining bifacial cell technology with a glass-glass construction eliminates the risk of accelerated rear-side degradation (LID/PID) while delivering real-world bifacial gain from ground-reflected irradiance (snow, light-colored surfaces). This design is more durable than bifacial modules with a polymer backsheet, particularly in high-humidity and thermally variable environments.
The series was both introduced and discontinued within the same year, 2025. This results in limited module availability on the secondary market, no supply continuity for system expansions, and potential difficulties sourcing replacement modules within the 30-year warranty horizon. This represents a significant risk for projects requiring long-term bill-of-materials standardization.
Axitec does not appear on the BloombergNEF Tier 1 manufacturer list (currently classified as Tier 2), which may complicate or increase the cost of non-recourse project financing. By comparison, peer comparable Risen Energy holds BNEF Tier 1 status — a designation frequently required by lenders financing utility-scale PV projects above 1 MW.
The series peaks at 21.81% efficiency, while direct peer comparables reach 22.60–22.65% (Risen RSM144-9, Hanersun Hitouch 5N, Q-SUN Qrystal N8). The ~0.8–1.4 percentage point gap translates into measurable losses in power density for the same footprint — particularly relevant for rooftop or ground-mounted projects with constrained available area.
- Module efficiency of 21.2% is 1.2pp below average for TOPCon 550-600W panels (median: 22.4%)
- At 212.5 W/m², this panel generates 11.9 W/m² less per unit area than TOPCon 550-600W median (224.4 W/m²)
- -0.31%/°C temperature coefficient - 0.02pp worse than TOPCon 550-600W median (-0.29%/°C), expect higher hot weather losses
- At 43.0 kg, this panel is 11.8 kg heavier than the TOPCon 550-600W median (31.2 kg) - more demanding for installation crews
- Bifaciality factor of 80% can add 4-12% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
