Efficiency leader, no clear weak spot
The METEOR CMEQ-66BDS series brings quarter-cut cell technology to the market, reducing resistive losses even further than the now-common half-cut design and translating into higher energy yield from every square meter of roof or ground-mounted array. The modules rely on next-generation n-type TOPCon cells, delivering stronger performance under diffuse light and at elevated operating temperatures - a real advantage in Poland's variable-irradiance climate. Thanks to a bifacial double-glass construction, the panels also capture reflected light on the rear side, boosting total system output without increasing the installation's footprint. This makes the series particularly attractive for utility-scale solar farm developers and large commercial installations, where every fraction of efficiency matters and LCOE optimization is a priority over decades of operation. A rugged anodized-aluminum frame combined with high snow and wind load resistance makes the series suitable for demanding mounting conditions as well. A long-term 30-year performance warranty further protects the investment, setting CMEQ-66BDS apart from monofacial modules and older PERC-generation competitors.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial, utility-scale and agrivoltaic.
Top 5% of the TOPCon 650-700 W segment, against a median of 22.40%. Ranked 47th in the whole database.
Top 6% of the TOPCon 650-700 W segment, against a median of 223.7. Ranked 47th in the whole database.
Top 8% of the TOPCon 650-700 W segment, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 515th in the whole database.
CMEQ-66BDS efficiency (24.06-24.8%) is markedly higher than direct peer comparables at the same 670 Wp max power - Hiwatt HW-M12/132H (21.6%), Techwise Summit (21.57%) and Resun RS9H-M (21.57%). A gap of roughly 3 percentage points means a materially smaller array footprint for the same installed power.
Quarter-cut cell segmentation further reduces resistive losses compared to common half-cut designs, while N-type TOPCon delivers lower LID/LeTID degradation and better high-temperature performance than the older PERC cells used by the peer comparables.
Double-glass bifacial design captures additional energy from rear-side reflected light without increasing installation footprint, which is particularly relevant for utility-scale PV farms and large commercial installations optimizing LCOE.
A 30-year performance warranty paired with a 15-year product warranty exceeds the market standard (typically 25/12 years). AE Solar is a German Tier-1, BNEF-bankable manufacturer operating since 2003, further reducing project financing risk.
A solid anodized aluminum frame and high declared snow and wind load resistance make the series suitable for demanding mounting conditions, including the Polish climate.
A direct datasheet for the CMEQ-66BDS variant could not be located on AE Solar's official resources (api.ae-solar.com) - only datasheets for related Meteor series (CMER-96BDS 440-460W, CMER-132BDS 610-630W) are indexed, making independent verification of parameters harder for integrators and investors.
- Efficiency of 24.6% is 2.2pp above the TOPCon 650-700W median (22.4%)
- Power density of 246.2 W/m² packs 22.5 W/m² more into the same footprint vs TOPCon 650-700W median (223.7 W/m²)
- At -0.26%/°C (vs median -0.29%/°C), loses ~1% less power in hot conditions
- At 32.2 kg, this panel is 2.4 kg lighter than TOPCon 650-700W median (34.6 kg) - easier handling during installation
- Bifaciality factor of 85% can add 4-13% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
