Efficiency leader, no clear weak spot
The Renesola 182M Half Cell 585W-590W (TOPCon) series are modules designed for high efficiency in real-world operating conditions, where stable output is more important than just a laboratory result. The use of N-type TOPCon cells helps to minimize typical power losses over time and improves the performance of the installation at elevated temperatures, which is important in the summer and on roofs with poor ventilation. The half-cell design reduces resistive losses and improves tolerance to partial shading - benefiting installations on roofs with chimneys, skylights, or ventilation elements.
Furthermore, the modules utilize MBB technology, which supports even current collection and reduces the impact of microcracks on panel performance over the long term. This is a good choice for PV farms, commercial installations, and large industrial roofs where low degradation and predictable energy production are important. Compared to many standard P-type modules, this series aims for higher durability and more stable output over the years.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Commercial, utility-scale, shaded-installations and hot-climate.
Top 19% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 22.44%.
Top 23% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 224.4.
TOPCon technology reduces LID/LeTID degradation compared to older P-type PERC cells, which combined with the 30-year linear warranty translates into more predictable long-term energy yield.
Renesola provides 30 years of both product and power warranty - notably longer than the standard 12/25-year terms offered by many tier-1 manufacturers, increasing investment security for commercial installations and utility-scale PV farms.
Efficiency in the 22.64-22.83% range is on par with competing TOPCon 590W modules (Talesun TM7G72M - 22.8%, Horay Solar HS 182-144 - 22.8%, SunEvo SE5-72H - 22.83%), meaning less roof area is needed for the same installed capacity.
Splitting cells into halves reduces resistive losses and improves partial shading tolerance (chimneys, dormers, roof vents), while multi-busbar (MBB) architecture limits the impact of microcracks on panel performance over time.
The bifacial module captures additional energy from light reflected off the ground surface, which is particularly beneficial for ground-mounted installations and reflective roofing surfaces.
Despite its tier-1 bankable status, Renesola has lower brand recognition and a smaller service network in the Polish market compared to brands like Trina Solar or JA Solar, which may slow down warranty claim processing.
- At 22.8% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical TOPCon 550-600W modules
- Power density of 228.3 W/m² packs 3.9 W/m² more into the same footprint vs TOPCon 550-600W median (224.4 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.30%/°C matches the TOPCon 550-600W median
