Light for its output, no clear weak spot
Jinko Solar's Tiger Neo 72HL4-(V) (monofacial N-type) modules are designed for maximum stable energy production under real-world operating conditions - even when installed in high temperatures, intense sunlight, or challenging environments. The application of N-type TOPCon cells minimizes typical power losses over time (including LID/LeTID), ensuring the yield remains predictable for years, and enabling investors to confidently complete profitability calculations.
A key feature of this series is the HOT (Hot 2.0/3.0) technology, focused on higher reliability and resilience to operational stresses. The structure supported by SMBB improves current collection from the cells, translating to better performance under partial shading and weaker light. The modules are also designed with resistance to PID in mind, as well as increased durability in conditions such as salty mist or agricultural environments (ammonia).
This is an excellent choice for PV farms, commercial rooftops, and projects where high power density and long-term stability matter, not just catalog specifications.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Utility-scale, commercial, shaded-installations and hot-climate.
Top 2% of the N-type 600-650 W segment, against a median of 52.8. Ranked 490th in the whole database.
Top 14% of the N-type 600-650 W segment, against a median of 22.77%.
Top 15% of the N-type 600-650 W segment, against a median of 227.7.
N-type TOPCon cells exhibit degradation of <0.4%/year and eliminate LID/LeTID effects that cause 1-3% power loss in P-type PERC modules during the first weeks of operation. The linear power warranty guarantees a minimum of 87.4% of rated output after 30 years, with first-year degradation below 1%.
The series sits in the top efficiency tier for 72-cell modules: peer comparable JS Solar JS210MHC120 reaches only 21.4%, while LEDVANCE M585~605P60UB-SF-F3 achieves 21.37%. The only direct peer at this efficiency level is GCL SIROT NT10/72GDF (23.42%), placing Tiger Neo firmly at the top of its segment.
The manufacturer guarantees a minimum of 87.4% of rated power output after 30 years of operation, with annual degradation not exceeding 0.4%/year. By comparison, P-type PERC modules typically carry 25-year warranties at 84.8% power retention - a real difference of 2-3% in energy yield over a typical project financing horizon.
In Bloomberg NEF's 2025 Bankability Report, Jinko Solar ranked #1 for the tenth consecutive year and was the only manufacturer to receive 100% bankability votes from financial institutions. This directly translates to easier project financing, lower insurance requirements, and higher residual asset values.
HOT 2.0 (High-efficiency, Outstanding reliability, Top performance) technology combined with multi-busbar (SMBB) design improves current collection under partial shading and low-irradiance conditions. The module carries certified PID resistance, salt mist resistance, and ammonia resistance (agricultural environments), with mechanical load ratings of 2400 Pa wind and 5400 Pa snow.
The 72HL4-(V) series cannot harvest reflected irradiance from the ground surface. Jinko's own bifacial variant, the 72HL4-BDV, in the same power class (580-600 W) delivers an additional 5-25% energy yield on ground-mounted systems with reflective surfaces. For utility-scale PV farms with open terrain, the absence of bifaciality represents a real LCOE disadvantage versus competing bifacial offerings at comparable price points.
The series carries a 12-year workmanship warranty, while premium manufacturers (REC Alpha, Q Cells Q.PEAK DUO) standardly offer 25-year product warranties. Jinko's own newer Tiger Neo 3.0 platform (2025) also brings an improved temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C versus -0.29%/°C for the 72HL4-(V). For projects with long financing horizons, this difference matters in lender and insurer negotiations.
- 23.4% module efficiency - 0.7pp better than the N-type 600-650W median of 22.8%
- At 234.2 W/m² power density, this panel generates 6.5 W/m² more per unit area than N-type 600-650W median (227.7 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C matches the N-type 600-650W median
- Weight of 27.0 kg (5.8 kg below N-type 600-650W median of 32.8 kg) allows easier transport and roof mounting
- In the top 6% for efficiency among all N-type panels
