Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The HT-SAAE HIGHWAY HT60-156P / HT60-156P(V) series are 60-cell modules based on polycrystalline cells, designed to combine stable performance with easy integration into common rooftop installations. In practice, their positive power tolerance stands out, offering the installer and investor greater predictability of energy yield under real-world conditions, without the risk that the module will perform below its declared specifications. Another key advantage is their environmental resistance-a robust construction featuring tempered glass and an aluminum frame supports long-term operation on both pitched and flat roofs.
The (V) variant facilitates customization of the modules for various projects, particularly where compatibility with existing string configurations is crucial. The entire design is complemented by a weatherproof junction box with a high protection class and MC4 connectors, which shortens installation time and minimizes the risk of wiring errors. This is an excellent choice for homes, small businesses, and system upgrades in existing installations, where proven technology and reliable performance over years are essential.

The top-performing variant of the series reaches 17.83% module efficiency, matching the peak value recorded by the Rarlon PV Tech Monocrystalline60 (17.83%) and exceeding the Solitek SOLID Solrif Transparent (14.69%) and Solitek SOLID Agro (14.71%) by more than 3 percentage points. Within the 60-cell polycrystalline class, this positions the series firmly in the upper quartile of products available at the time.
HT-SAAE has maintained continuous Tier-1 bankable manufacturer status on Bloomberg NEF lists for many years as a PRC state-owned enterprise (Shanghai Aerospace Automobile Electromechanical Co., Ltd.). This status translates into strong financial backing of the warranty and simplifies project financing with lenders and insurers.
All variants in the 270–290 W range carry a positive power tolerance of 0/+5 Wp. In practice, both installer and investor can be confident the module will meet or exceed its rated output, reducing the risk of underestimating energy yield at the project level.
The datasheet confirms an IP68 ingress protection rating for the junction box and standard MC4 connectors, accelerating installation and eliminating the need for additional adapter cabling even in legacy string array configurations.
The manufacturer guarantees at least 80% of nominal power output after 25 years — a warranty standard identical to contemporaneous Tier-1 modules from Trina Solar and JA Solar — protecting the asset value of the installation across its full operational lifetime.
The HT60-156P / HT60-156P(V) was manufactured between 2012 and 2020 and is officially designated as discontinued. Availability of new modules is limited exclusively to distributor warehouse stock; after-sales support, matching replacement frames, and original junction boxes may be difficult to source in the event of a failure post-2025.
The series is based on P-type cells (polycrystalline/PERC), whereas the current market is dominated by N-type TOPCon and HJT technologies — both offering higher annual energy yield, lower LID/LETID degradation rates, and a superior temperature coefficient of power (≤ −0.30%/°C vs. −0.41%/°C for this series). For new installations, this results in a measurably lower annual energy yield per kWp.
Current HT-SAAE N-type series (2024+) carry a 25-year product warranty. This series originally shipped with a 10-year product warranty, subsequently extended to 12 years — still significantly below the market standard of 15–25 years. When purchasing from warehouse stock, the remaining warranty coverage is further reduced accordingly.
- Efficiency of 16.6% is 2.8pp below the PERC 0-400W median (19.4%)
- 166.0 W/m² power density is 28.4 W/m² below PERC 0-400W median (194.4 W/m²) - requires larger installation area
- -0.41%/°C temperature coefficient - 0.05pp worse than PERC 0-400W median (-0.36%/°C), expect higher hot weather losses
- At 18.5 kg, this panel is 2.0 kg lighter than PERC 0-400W median (20.5 kg) - easier handling during installation
