Middle of its segment, modest efficiency
Hiwatt Solar HW-M12/110H series photovoltaic panels are based on advanced N-type cell technology in M12 format, which allows for achieving impressive unit power while maintaining high module efficiency. The application of Half-Cut technology (cells cut in half) and a design based on 110 cells translates into significantly better shading tolerance and a reduction in energy losses resulting from internal resistance. Thanks to the Multi-Busbar (MBB) system, these modules are characterized by a shortened current flow path, which not only increases efficiency but also enhances resistance to micro-cracks and PID degradation. This series solves the problem of finding the golden mean between high power and thermal stability, offering a low temperature coefficient that guarantees high yields even on hot days. HW-M12/110H is an ideal choice for commercial investors and owners of large photovoltaic farms, as well as for modern residential installations where lowering the LCOE is key. It is distinguished from the competition by the precise matching of electrical parameters to modern high-input current inverters, allowing for full utilization of the system-s potential. A robust frame and high mechanical resistance to snow and wind make these panels ready for challenging Polish weather conditions, ensuring peace of mind and investment security for years.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Tight roof space, roofs where every square metre has to count and hot climates.
Bottom 2% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 22.44%. Ranked 9,758th in the whole database.
Bottom 2% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of 224.4. Ranked 9,622nd in the whole database.
Bottom 5% of the TOPCon 550-600 W segment, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 8,778th in the whole database.
The combination of N-type TOPCon cells, a 110-cell half-cut layout, and Multi-Busbar (MBB) technology delivers lower Light-Induced Degradation (LID) than P-type PERC, improved partial-shading tolerance, and shorter current paths. In practice this translates into higher annual energy yield and reduced micro-crack risk.
The 535–555 Wp power range in M12 (182 mm) format positions the series firmly in the competitive 550 W-class segment. Peak efficiency of 21.2% is market-competitive, though marginally below direct Tier-1 peers (ET Solar Elite PLUS 21.4%, JA Solar DEEP BLUE 3.0 21.5%).
Modules are rated for snow loads up to 5,400 Pa and wind loads up to 2,400 Pa (per ENF Solar / SolarFeeds datasheet listings), meeting Polish structural norms PN-EN 1991-1-3 for snow zones IV and V. The robust aluminum frame minimizes mechanical degradation risk under Polish winter conditions.
The manufacturer provides a 25-year linear power warranty — the segment standard, matching peer comparables such as JA Solar DEEP BLUE 3.0 (25 years / 84.8% of rated power). The product workmanship warranty is 12 years, on par with JA Solar DEEP BLUE 3.0.
Hiwatt Solar does not appear on BNEF Tier 1 lists (Q1 2026 or prior quarters), and the manufacturer context explicitly flags `tier_1_bankable: false`. For externally financed commercial projects (project finance, bank leasing), non-bankable status implies higher credit-risk premiums or additional collateral requirements. Standard financial institutions and PE funds typically mandate Tier-1-bankable modules as a baseline condition.
Peak module efficiency of 21.2% trails JA Solar DEEP BLUE 3.0 by 0.3 percentage points (21.5%) and ET Solar Elite PLUS by 0.2 pp (21.4%). On a typical 100 kWp rooftop installation, this difference equates to approximately 285 Wp less installed capacity over the same roof area — a meaningful constraint for space-limited projects.
The HW-M12/110H series is monofacial (`is_bifacial: false`), whereas the direct peer comparable JA Solar DEEP BLUE 3.0 is available in a bifacial double-glass variant capable of generating an additional 5–15% energy from albedo reflection (light-colored gravel, concrete). For ground-mount farms and high-albedo rooftops, monofacial modules carry a structurally worse LCOE position.
- Module efficiency of 21.0% is 1.4pp below average for TOPCon 550-600W panels (median: 22.4%)
- Power density of 210.5 W/m² is 13.9 W/m² below TOPCon 550-600W median (224.4 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- At -0.34%/°C, loses 0.05pp more power per degree than TOPCon 550-600W median (-0.29%/°C)
- 28.6 kg weight - 2.6 kg lighter than TOPCon 550-600W median (31.2 kg), reducing installation effort
- #9758 for efficiency, #8778 for temperature performance out of 14005 panels
