Warranty pick, weak in heat
Aptos Solar DNA 144 Silver Frame solar panels utilize patented DNA technology, which eliminates energy losses at the cell level and significantly increases system efficiency in challenging lighting conditions. Thanks to the use of split-cell construction and advanced busbars, these modules exhibit exceptional resistance to high temperatures, which directly translates into stable energy yield even in full sun. Choosing this series is primarily about maximizing efficiency from limited roof space and the assurance of a secure, long-term investment. The solid, silver frame provides not only an aesthetic appearance but also extreme mechanical strength against snow and wind loads, making them an ideal solution for demanding Polish climatic conditions. The DNA 144 series effectively addresses the problem of premature module degradation through technology that prevents the formation of micro-cracks. It is a product dedicated to conscious prosumers and business investors seeking above-average reliability confirmed by rigorous quality tests. Unlike standard solutions, Aptos Solar offers a patented Dual Nano-cells structure that optimizes current flow and minimizes the impact of spot shading. This is a solution for those who prioritize the highest standard of fire safety and American engineering that goes beyond market standards.

Signals from the data
Residential, commercial and shaded-installations.
Hot climates and tight roof space.
Top 17% of the PERC 400-450 W segment, against a median of 25 yrs.
Bottom 2% of the PERC 400-450 W segment, against a median of -0.350. Ranked 13,397th in the whole database.
Bottom 12% of the PERC 400-450 W segment, against a median of 20.60%.
Aptos Solar offers a 30-year warranty on both the product and its performance, which exceeds the standard market offering (typically 12-15 years on the product + 25 years on performance from Tier 1 manufacturers like JA Solar or Trina Solar). This provides investors with a significantly longer period of protection.
The DNA (Dual Nano Absorber) technology applies passive layers to half-cut PERC cells with 9 connection ribbons, which reduces losses due to partial shading and improves performance at high temperatures. This patented solution – not available from any of the companies mentioned above.
The module can withstand a snow load of up to 5400 Pa and wind loads of up to 6200 Pa, which meets the requirements of IEC climate zones for Poland (including mountainous areas). The silver-colored aluminum frame provides long-term resistance to corrosion.
The split-cell (144 half-cell) design reduces the working current by half in each row, lowering I²R losses and improving efficiency compared to standard 72-cell full-cell modules.
The DNA 144 Silver Frame is officially discontinued (launched in 2020, production has been confirmed to end). Availability of replacement modules for expanding the installation is limited, and enforcing the 30-year warranty offered by the 2019-founded manufacturer carries a real risk of lacking ongoing service support.
The maximum efficiency of the series is 20.21%, while comparable models achieve 22.5% (Suntech Ultra V Pro mini) and 23.04% (SunKean/Sunket SKT430–450M10-108D5) at the same 450 Wp power. This means that to achieve 1 kWp, an Aptos installation requires approximately 12–14% more roof space.
PER (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) solar cells are being replaced by TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) and HJT (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin-layer) technologies, which offer lower LID/LeTID degradation rates and better performance at high temperatures. Even PER cells of the same power rating (450 Wp) are now using newer generation solar cells, which, over a 30-year lifespan, results in a significantly lower cumulative energy yield.
Aptos Solar was founded in 2019, and this particular product line was launched in 2020 and quickly withdrawn from the market. The lack of a long-term track record (unlike Suntech, which has been on the market since 2001) makes it difficult to assess the true durability of the modules and the credibility of the long-term warranty.
- Module efficiency of 20.0% is 0.6pp below average for PERC 400-450W panels (median: 20.6%)
- At 204.4 W/m² power density, roof space requirements are typical for PERC 400-450W panels
- -0.38%/°C temperature coefficient - 0.03pp worse than PERC 400-450W median (-0.35%/°C), expect higher hot weather losses
- At 24.1 kg (2.1 kg above PERC 400-450W median of 22.0 kg), requires checking roof load capacity
- In the top 88% for efficiency among all PERC panels
