Middle of its segment, modest efficiency
AmoSolar photovoltaic panels from the AS580-615G12-120 series define a new level of efficiency in utility-scale installations thanks to the use of large-format G12 cells measuring 210 mm. The use of advanced multi-busbar (MBB) technology drastically reduces internal resistance and the risk of micro-cracks, which directly translates into the stability of energy yields throughout the power plant's life cycle. The design based on 120 half-cut cells effectively minimizes power losses resulting from partial shading, making these modules a reliable choice for demanding industrial projects and solar farms. What distinguishes this series from market standards is an exceptionally low temperature coefficient, allowing for high productivity even in full sun and at high ambient temperatures. The AS580-615G12-120 series solves the problem of limited installation space by offering maximum power density from every square meter, which significantly reduces the costs of mounting structures and cabling (BOS). It is a solution dedicated to investors seeking uncompromising performance and a faster return on investment in the commercial sector. Robust resistance to extreme mechanical loads guarantees safety in variable weather conditions, placing these panels at the forefront in terms of durability and resistance to potential-induced degradation (PID). By choosing this technology, you gain a guarantee of stable system operation for decades.

Format G12 (210 mm) with a 120-cell half-cut configuration allows for a maximum of 615 Wp per module. In large-scale installations, this means fewer modules are needed to achieve the same power output, which directly reduces BOS (balance of system) costs – estimated to be 5–8% lower compared to the M6/156 mm format.
The multi-busbar technology, combined with half-cut cells, reduces power losses under partial shading and lowers internal resistance. The risk of microcrack formation is lower than in traditional 3BB/4BB modules, which translates to slower mechanical degradation in varying climatic conditions.
The maximum efficiency of 21.73% places the AS580-615G12-120 series on par with direct competitors: GCL GCL-M12/60H (21.7%) and Risen TITAN (21.7%). Despite having a lower bankability rating, the module does not lag behind these manufacturers in terms of power density per square meter.
The manufacturer offers a 25-year warranty on output power – a standard that aligns with those offered by GCL, Risen, and other leading G12 suppliers in the commercial segment. For a 25-year project, this minimizes regulatory and insurance risks associated with excessive degradation.
AmoSolar is not included in the BloombergNEF (BNEF) Tier 1 Q1 2026 bankability list, while direct competitors such as GCL, Risen, and JA Solar have held this status for years. In projects financed by banks or infrastructure funds, a lack of bankability can make it difficult or impossible to obtain non-recourse financing, increasing the investor's capital costs.
PERC cells exhibit degradation of approximately 2% in the first year (compared to approximately 1% for N-type TOPCon), as well as susceptibility to LID (Light-Induced Degradation). A direct competitor, JA Solar JAM72D40 LB, offers the same power class (up to 615 Wp) on N-type cells with an efficiency of 23.2% – nearly 1.5% higher than the maximum of the AmoSolar series (21.73%). Over a 25-year lifespan, this translates to a realistically lower energy yield.
The warranty for workmanship and materials is 12 years. Tier-1 manufacturers (e.g., JA Solar, Trina Solar) typically offer 12-15 years in this power range. For projects with long operational lifespans and stringent service requirements (e.g., PPA contracts exceeding 15 years), a shorter product warranty period may be a point of negotiation or a requirement for purchasing additional insurance.
- Module efficiency of 20.7% is 0.6pp below average for PERC 550-600W panels (median: 21.3%)
- 206.7 W/m² power density is 6.2 W/m² below PERC 550-600W median (212.9 W/m²) - requires larger installation area
- At -0.34%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for PERC 550-600W panels
- In the top 78% for efficiency among all PERC panels
