The Tata Power Solar HG10TB (Glass - Transparent Backsheet) series is designed for installations where high efficiency and durability are paramount, without the typical compromises associated with glass-on-glass construction. The use of a transparent backsheet allows for better utilization of light coming from the rear, making the module suitable for systems with good ground reflection (light roofs, gravel, roofing membranes) and projects where bifacial operation is important. At the same time, this design helps to reduce weight and simplifies the installation logistics compared to heavier double-glass solutions.

In practice, HG10TB solves a common problem for investors: how to increase energy production without expanding the installation area. The modules utilize monocrystalline cells and a modern system architecture, which promotes stable operation under varying solar conditions. This is a good choice for PV farms, large commercial rooftops, and industrial installations, where long-term profitability and consistent quality are important.

Common questions

6 answered
How does the HG10TB (Glass - Transparent Backsheet) construction differ from a classic glass-glass module?
A standard glass-glass construction offers the highest mechanical durability and maximum bifaciality, but it is heavier and more costly to transport and install. HG10TB replaces the rear glass with a transparent backsheet, making the module lighter and easier to install, while still enabling bifacial operation, typically with a somewhat lower bifaciality factor than the glass-glass version. It's a practical trade-off between durability and installation convenience.
How much extra energy do HG10TB panels generate thanks to bifacial operation?
Thanks to the transparent backsheet, the module captures light reflected from the surface beneath the panel. Depending on the albedo of the mounting surface (light-colored roof, gravel, roofing membrane), the additional energy yield can range from a few to over a dozen percent compared to a standard monofacial module. The best results are achieved when mounting on elevated structures over a bright, highly reflective ground.
What warranty applies to Tata Power Solar HG10TB modules?
The manufacturer provides a 10-year product warranty covering material and workmanship defects, along with a 25-year linear power warranty guaranteeing a defined minimum power output throughout the module's operating life. This is a standard offering for premium-class modules and allows investors to plan returns over a long-term horizon.
How does PERC cell technology affect the performance of the HG10TB module rated up to 550 Wp?
PERC cells feature an additional passivation layer on the rear side that reflects unused photons back into the cell, increasing solar energy conversion efficiency. In the HG10TB module rated up to 550 Wp, this results in higher yield from the same surface area compared to older, standard cells, while maintaining stable long-term performance.
Are HG10TB panels suitable for installation on light-colored roofs or gravel surfaces?
Yes, this is one of the main use cases for this series. Light-colored roofs, gravel surfaces, roofing membranes, or light-colored concrete increase the amount of reflected light reaching the rear side of the module through the transparent backsheet. Under such conditions, bifacial operation of the HG10TB allows for noticeably higher energy production compared to dark, highly absorptive surfaces.
Is Tata Power Solar a Tier 1 manufacturer, and what does that mean for a customer in Poland?
Yes, Tata Power Solar holds Tier 1 manufacturer status, reflecting financial stability, in-house production capacity, and a documented track record of supplying modules to large commercial projects. For a customer in Poland, this means easier access to bank financing for the investment and lower risk regarding future warranty claims.
