Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The Jinko Solar 72 Series has been designed for installations where stable energy production is crucial, even under challenging conditions. The modules utilize a half-cut construction and Mono PERC monocrystalline technology, which helps to minimize losses and perform better in partial shading - for example, from chimneys, trees, or building elements on the roof. The use of a multi-busbar architecture supports more efficient current collection and improves reliability during operation.
Another key feature of this series is the high operating voltage of the system, which makes it easier to design longer strings and can simplify the DC side of the installation, resulting in a more organized assembly. In practice, this is a solution for investors who want predictable yields throughout the year, even in less sunny conditions and at higher module temperatures.
The Jinko Solar 72 Series is suitable for larger residential installations, commercial rooftop installations, and ground-mounted systems, where durability, weather resistance, and easy compatibility with standard inverters are important.

In the Bloomberg NEF 2025 PV Module Bankability Survey, JinkoSolar was the only manufacturer globally to receive a 100% bankability rating from all participating financial institutions. This represents the lowest counterparty risk for project financing and is a critical factor for both institutional investors and residential buyers seeking long-term warranty coverage.
Splitting cells in half reduces internal resistance and limits shading losses - in a half-cut layout, a partially shaded section only disables half the module rather than the entire string. The 5-busbar design shortens current paths, lowering resistive losses and improving long-term contact reliability.
IEC/UL certification for 1500 V DC allows more modules per string compared to standard 1000 V installations. This reduces the number of strings, DC wiring runs, and MPPT inputs required, directly lowering BoS costs and simplifying the DC side of utility-scale and ground-mount system designs.
The upper efficiency bound of 21.17% outperforms the peer comparable MWG Mono (19.32%) by nearly 2 percentage points and DMEGC GH400M10T-B48HST (15.48%) by over 5.5 pp. The only peer exceeding this value is Meyer Burger White (21.7%), which occupies a significantly higher price tier as a European-manufactured premium panel.
PERC cells on a boron-doped P-type substrate exhibit Light-Induced Degradation (LID): PVEL 2025 testing shows 1.5-2.5% power loss in the first 200-500 operating hours. Annual degradation for PERC is 0.6-0.8%/yr versus 0.4-0.5%/yr for N-type TOPCon; after 25 years, PERC retains approximately 82-84% of initial power vs ~85-87% for TOPCon. Jinko's own Tiger Neo (TOPCon) line offers a temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C vs -0.35%/°C for this series, translating to measurably higher annual yield in high-temperature climates or on heat-absorbing rooftops.
The series is monofacial - the rear surface generates no power from reflected irradiance. Modern bifacial modules of the same power class achieve 5-25% additional yield on bright surfaces (white TPO membrane, gravel, concrete), making bifacial alternatives meaningfully more competitive on LCOE for ground-mount and flat-roof applications.
- At 19.9% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical PERC 0-400W modules
- 199.2 W/m² power density - 5.0 W/m² more than PERC 0-400W median (194.2 W/m²), more power per roof area
- Temperature coefficient of -0.37%/°C matches the PERC 0-400W median
- At 23.5 kg, this panel is 3.0 kg heavier than the PERC 0-400W median (20.5 kg) - more demanding for installation crews
- In the top 88% for efficiency among all PERC panels
