The Horay Solar HS 210R-108 TC-D Cosmos series are bifacial N-type modules designed to maximize energy yield in installations where every square meter counts. Thanks to their bifacial design, these panels can also effectively utilize reflected light from the ground, which significantly increases production in ground-mounted, flat-roof, and carport systems. The use of half-cell technology in combination with SMBB (multi-busbar) improves current collection and reduces thermal losses, leading to more stable operation in demanding conditions. A key advantage of this series is high efficiency in low-light conditions, which is important in the Polish climate, as well as the naturally low susceptibility of N-type cells to LID degradation, which helps maintain the long-term profitability of the investment. These modules are suitable for C&I (Commercial & Industrial) investors and PV farms that want to achieve better yields without compromising on durability and environmental resistance.

What owners get
Up to 23.1% efficiency — top of the 210R segment

The highest-power variant reaches 23.1% module efficiency, matching Sunpro Power TOPCon 210R Bifacial (23.17%) and Huasun Aurora Pro (23.17%) while clearly outperforming Canadian Solar TOPBiHiKu6 (22.8%). Within the 108-cell 210R class, this places the series among the top performers available on the market (2024–2025).

N-type TOPCon + half-cut + SMBB

N-type cells exhibit significantly lower LID degradation rates than PERC, while SMBB (≥16 busbar) architecture reduces resistive losses by shortening current paths. The half-cut layout limits the impact of partial shading on the full module output, which is practically relevant for ground-mount and carport installations with terrain obstacles.

30-year linear power warranty ≥87.4%

Per the datasheet of the comparable Cosmos series (HS210R-096TC-D), the manufacturer guarantees at least 87.4% of rated power after 30 years and 99% after year 1. Canadian Solar's TOPBiHiKu6 also offers a 30-year power warranty but does not publicly disclose the minimum percentage threshold for that period. An 87.4%/30-year floor translates directly into a lower LCOE over a 25–30-year investment horizon.

Bifacial design — measurable energy gain

The glass-to-glass construction enables albedo harvesting from ground reflection; with a typical bifaciality factor of ~80% and albedo of 0.25–0.30 (concrete/light gravel), the realistic energy gain reaches 8–14% in ground-mount and carport systems. On flat rooftops with white TPO/PVC membranes the gain can exceed 10%, directly improving project ROI.

BNEF Tier 1 since Q1 2025 — confirmed bankability

Horay Solar was listed on BloombergNEF's Tier 1 module manufacturer list in Q1 2025, meeting the requirement of documented non-recourse financing for ≥6 projects of ≥10 MW each by ≥6 different banks. Tier 1 status is a standard prerequisite for project financing at Polish and EU utility-scale and C&I PV projects, removing a key bankability barrier.

Trade-offs
Limited production scale — risk for large orders

Horay Solar reports manufacturing capacity of approximately 2.5 GW/year, while Tier-1 peers active in Poland operate at 20–90 GW/year (Canadian Solar ~30 GW, JinkoSolar ~90 GW). For PV farms above 5–10 MWp, this may complicate negotiating long-term supply agreements (LTAs) and limit access to dedicated in-country warranty service infrastructure in Central Europe.

Wide efficiency spread within the series (22.2%–23.1%)

The 0.9 pp gap between the lowest (495 Wp, 22.2%) and highest (515 Wp, 23.1%) variants is wide for a 5-variant series in this power class; the 22.2% lower bin falls below the peer comparable median (Canadian Solar 22.8%, Sunpro/Huasun 23.17%). Without specifying a minimum power variant in purchase orders, buyers risk receiving modules with below-market median efficiency.

Common questions

6 answered
What warranty does the Horay Solar HS 210R-108 TC-D Cosmos series carry?
Horay Solar provides a 15-year product warranty on the module itself and a 30-year linear power warranty. After 30 years, output should remain at or above 83.1% of rated power, in line with published Cosmos series specifications. This is one of the longest warranty packages in the N-type TOPCon segment and directly supports the long-term ROI of C&I and utility-scale PV projects.
What does the bifacial design of the HS 210R-108 TC-D Cosmos actually deliver, and does every installation benefit?
The bifacial construction allows the module to capture light reflected off the ground through its rear surface, potentially adding several percentage points of real-world energy yield depending on surface albedo. The greatest gains occur in ground-mount systems over light-colored substrates, flat rooftops, and carports with adequate clearance. Densely packed pitched roofs or dark substrates will see minimal bifacial contribution.
Will the Horay Solar Cosmos HS 210R-108 TC-D perform well in low-irradiance and cold-climate conditions?
TOPCon N-type technology offers measurably better low-light performance compared to standard PERC cells, making these modules well-suited for overcast and diffuse-light conditions. The low temperature coefficient means the panel loses less power on hot days, while cool winters actually work in its favor. Horay Solar highlights strong diffuse-irradiance response as a key advantage of the Cosmos series.
How does TOPCon technology in the Cosmos HS 210R-108 TC-D differ from mainstream PERC modules?
TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) uses an ultra-thin silicon oxide interlayer to reduce carrier recombination and push efficiency beyond the practical ceiling of PERC. The most important practical advantage is near-zero LID (Light Induced Degradation): PERC modules typically lose 2–3% of power in early operation due to light-induced degradation, whereas N-type TOPCon cells are essentially immune. This translates into higher energy yield over the full system lifetime.
What installation types are the 515 W Horay Solar HS 210R-108 TC-D Cosmos modules best suited for?
At 515 W with a bifacial design, these modules are optimized for commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop systems and utility-scale PV farms where maximizing yield per square meter is the priority. The bifacial gain is best captured in ground-mount arrays with trackers or fixed-tilt structures over high-albedo surfaces, flat rooftops, and solar carports. The 210R rectangular format also simplifies MPPT string sizing and BOS design in larger projects.
What does SMBB (Super Multi Busbar) technology in the Cosmos HS 210R-108 TC-D mean in practical terms?
SMBB replaces a few wide busbars with many fine wires, shortening the current path to the collector and reducing resistive losses. In practice, the design improves resistance to microcracks and lowers module operating temperature. Combined with the half-cut cell layout, the module maintains higher output even when one cell half is partially shaded, making the Cosmos series more resilient under real-world installation conditions.
