Efficiency leader, weak in heat
The Hiwatt Solar HW-M10/144G solar panel series is based on advanced M10-type monocrystalline cells, which optimize energy density per square meter. Thanks to the use of Half-Cut technology, these modules effectively minimize energy losses resulting from temporary shading and reduce internal resistance, which directly translates into higher efficiency of the entire system. This solution is an effective response to the needs of investors seeking maximum yield with limited installation space. The use of Multi-Busbar cells ensures more efficient current flow and significantly increased resistance to micro-cracks, which clearly distinguishes this series from older market solutions. Hiwatt Solar HW-M10/144G panels were designed primarily for large commercial installations and solar farms, where durability and low cost of energy generation are key. Their high resistance to PID degradation and solid, reinforced mechanical construction ensure that the modules operate stably even in the demanding Polish climate. By choosing this series, the investor gains a product that combines innovation with industrial durability, which guarantees capital security for decades. This is energy yield optimization dedicated to professionals who value reliability and a modern approach to large-scale photovoltaics.

Modules reach up to 23.23% efficiency, placing the series on par with the best peer comparables (Tongwei 23.2%, Lexron 23.23%) and well above Talesun BISTAR (21.5%). The ~1.7 pp gap vs. Talesun translates into meaningfully higher energy yield per square meter of roof or land area.
N-type TOPCon cells exhibit near-zero LID (Light-Induced Degradation) compared to PERC technology. The measured temperature coefficient of -0.34%/°C outperforms typical PERC (-0.35 to -0.45%/°C), resulting in higher yield on hot days — particularly relevant for utility-scale installations operating year-round.
The symmetrical bifacial structure allows the module to absorb reflected irradiance on the rear side. In ground-mount PV farm conditions with light-colored gravel or snow cover, the bifacial gain can increase annual yield by 5–15% at no additional BoS cost.
Splitting cells in half reduces internal resistance and limits mismatch losses under partial shading (bypass diodes protect half a string instead of the full string). MBB technology reduces microcrak propagation risk and shortens current paths, directly improving long-term module durability over a multi-decade operational cycle.
The series carries confirmed PID (Potential Induced Degradation) resistance, which is critical for large commercial and utility-scale PV systems operating at high DC system voltages (up to 1500 V DC). This limits the risk of power loss caused by uncontrolled charge leakage through the module frame.
Hiwatt Solar does not appear on BloombergNEF's bankable manufacturers list (Q1 2026). For large PV farm projects financed by independent commercial banks, the absence of Tier-1 status may require a higher DSCR covenant or manufacturer credit insurance, effectively raising the project's LCOE. Peer comparable Tongwei holds Tier-1 status.
The manufacturer offers a 12-year workmanship warranty, while leading Tier-1 suppliers (JA Solar, Jinko Solar, LONGi) standardly provide 15 years. The 3-year gap may be material in long-term project finance structures or when calculating O&M risk costs.
- At 23.2% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical TOPCon 600-650W modules
- Power density of 232.3 W/m² packs 4.6 W/m² more into the same footprint vs TOPCon 600-650W median (227.7 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.34%/°C is 0.05pp worse than TOPCon 600-650W median (-0.29%/°C) - higher losses in summer heat
- Ranked #1252 out of 14005 panels for efficiency in the database
