Space saver, no clear weak spot
The ZEUS 1.2 FullBlack series is a compact bifacial panel designed for demanding roof types - dormers, facades, or small roof sections - where every square centimeter of space matters. At the heart of the module is back-contact cell technology, where all electrical contacts are moved to the rear side of the N-Type cell, leaving the front surface free of visible grids and busbars. This results in a uniform, deep black appearance and better use of incoming sunlight. The glass-glass construction with half-cut cells enables bifacial operation, allowing the module to generate additional energy from light reflected off the rear side. The manufacturer highlights optimal partial shading behavior - a typical weak point in urban installations and roofs with chimneys or antennas - as the back-contact architecture limits power losses in such conditions. The panel also stands out for its low weight and slim, low-profile 35 mm frame, which simplifies installation on structures with limited load capacity. The whole module comes with a 30-year product and power warranty from a German manufacturer, making the ZEUS 1.2 FullBlack a solution for investors who value aesthetics, durability, and maximum energy yield from limited roof space.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, shaded-installations and BIPV.
Top 1% of the 170-370 W band, against a median of 180.1. Ranked 4,557th in the whole database.
Top 2% of the 170-370 W band, against a median of 18.05%. Ranked 4,636th in the whole database.
Top 3% of the 170-370 W band, against a median of -0.360. Ranked 515th in the whole database.
By moving all electrical contacts to the rear of the N-Type cell, the ZEUS 1.2 FullBlack series reaches 22.47-23.31% efficiency, roughly 6 percentage points higher than comparable polycrystalline modules in the peer set (TPL Solar, AE Solar, Rarlon - all in the 17.1-17.21% range).
A power temperature coefficient of -0.26%/K limits output losses on hot days, a typical advantage of back-contact/N-Type architectures over older PERC cells with higher temperature-related losses.
The glass-glass construction with half-cut cells enables additional energy generation from light reflected off the rear side of the panel, potentially adding a few percent of extra annual yield versus a monofacial module of the same nominal power, especially on bright surfaces or elevated mounting structures.
The manufacturer covers the module with a 30-year warranty on both the product and the power output - significantly longer than the standard 12-15 years of product warranty and 25 years of power warranty offered by most Tier-1 manufacturers.
Dimensions of 1560 x 770 mm, a weight of just 14.3 kg, and a 35 mm frame (rated up to 9000 Pa test load) make the panel well suited for dormers, facades, and small roof sections where standard large-format modules do not fit.
At 1560 x 770 mm and 270-280 Wp, the panel has a much smaller area and unit power than large-format modules (450-710 Wp in Heckert Solar's own ZEUS 2.1/2.2 series), meaning more modules, more connections, and higher labor cost per installed kWp on large projects.
The series only entered the market in Q1 2026 as the manufacturer's first compact back-contact module - unlike established PERC/TOPCon technologies with a multi-year track record, independent field degradation data over 10-15 years is not yet available.
- Efficiency of 22.5% is 1.2pp above the Back Contact 0-400W median (21.2%)
- At 224.8 W/m² power density, this panel generates 12.3 W/m² more per unit area than Back Contact 0-400W median (212.5 W/m²)
- At -0.26%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for Back Contact 0-400W panels
- Weight of 14.3 kg (4.7 kg below Back Contact 0-400W median of 19.0 kg) allows easier transport and roof mounting
- Bifacial design (80% factor) captures reflected light - adds 4-12% yield on ground-mount or white roof
