Strong in heat, no clear weak spot
The Heckert Solar ZEUS 1.1 (445-450Wp) with a black frame is a glass-glass module that combines high efficiency with a refined black frame aesthetic. The use of n-type TOPCon monocrystalline cells ensures stable performance in challenging conditions, as well as better utilization of radiation under variable sunlight. A key advantage of this series is its bifacial design, which allows the module to generate energy from both sides - a real benefit for roofs, ground-mounted installations, and areas with light reflection.
In practice, the ZEUS 1.1 helps to reduce energy losses in hot weather thanks to its favorable temperature coefficient, and the robust glass-glass construction increases resistance to microcracks and aging. For investors focused on long-term costs, the long warranty period is also important. This is a good choice for homes and businesses that want to maximize production from a limited area, without compromising on the appearance of the installation.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, commercial and hot-climate.
Top 11% of the TOPCon 450-500 W segment, against a median of -0.290.
Top 17% of the TOPCon 450-500 W segment, against a median of 52.2.
A temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C places the ZEUS 1.1 among the top performers in its segment — for reference, standard PERC modules typically achieve -0.34 to -0.36%/°C. At a typical summer cell temperature of 65°C, the module loses approximately 11.2% of its rated power, compared to approximately 14.4% for PERC, which translates to measurably higher annual energy yield under Polish climatic conditions.
The Glass-Glass construction with n-type TOPCon cells enables energy harvesting from the rear side (the manufacturer claims up to 25% additional yield with suitable ground albedo). Dual 2.0 mm tempered glass panes on both sides eliminate the risk of microcracks and moisture ingress, extending the practical service life beyond the standard 25 years.
The series carries a Class A fire resistance rating per IEC 61730 — the highest classification available — which is required for pitched-roof installations near other buildings in many EU municipalities. The peer-comparable Suntech Ultra V Pro Mini (monofacial, glass-glass) in this power class does not always explicitly declare a Class A rating.
Heckert Solar guarantees performance above 87.4% of nominal power after 30 years — the same time horizon covers both the product warranty and the linear power output warranty. Most Chinese Tier-1 manufacturers (JA Solar, LONGi) offer 25-year power warranties with degradation to approximately 84.8%.
Heckert Solar (est. 1992, Chemnitz) is the last PV module manufacturer maintaining continuous production in Germany — Solarwatt ceased production in Dresden in August 2024, and Meyer Burger in Freiberg in April 2024. The company has held the Top Brand PV certification uninterrupted since 2015, a relevant factor when assessing supplier risk in commercial installations.
The maximum module efficiency of the series is 22.5%, while the peer-comparable SunKean/Sunket SKT430–450M10-108D5 achieves 23.04% at the same 450 Wp power rating. The 0.54 percentage-point gap means that over the same roof area, the ZEUS 1.1 will generate approximately 2.3% less energy — a meaningful consideration where installation space is constrained.
At 23.7 kg, the module is approximately 2–3 kg heavier than typical glass-foil modules of equivalent power output. In large rooftop installations, this may require structural load verification or additional mounting hardware, adding cost and engineering time to the project.
- Efficiency of 22.5% matches the TOPCon 450-500W median
- Power density of 225.2 W/m² matches the TOPCon 450-500W median
- Temperature coefficient of -0.28%/°C matches the TOPCon 450-500W median
- At 20.9 kg, this panel is 3.1 kg lighter than TOPCon 450-500W median (24.0 kg) - easier handling during installation
- Bifacial design (80% factor) captures reflected light - adds 4-12% yield on ground-mount or white roof
