Middle of its segment, heavy for its output
The AIKO Neostar 2S+ Dual-Glass (AIKO-A-MAH54Db) is designed for investors seeking to extract maximum energy from limited rooftop space while simultaneously minimizing risks typical of long-term operation. Its key advantage is the N-type ABC (All-Back Contact) technology - free from front busbars, which enhances light utilization and provides a uniform, elegant module appearance. In practice, this also ensures reliable performance under real-world conditions, where installations don't always have ideal sunlight exposure.
The module's dual-glass construction increases resistance to micro-cracks, moisture, and material fatigue, translating to stable energy production for years. The applied optimized performance under partial shading helps reduce losses when shade from chimneys, trees, or dirt covers only part of the panel. Additionally, superior performance in high temperatures supports efficiency during summer months.
This is an excellent choice for premium homes, complex roof geometries, carports, and projects where durability, aesthetics, and predictable yield are key priorities.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, commercial, shaded-installations and hot-climate.
Weight-limited structures, tight roof space and roofs where every square metre has to count.
Bottom 2% of the Back Contact 450-500 W segment, against a median of 48.0. Ranked 7,102nd in the whole database.
Bottom 21% of the Back Contact 450-500 W segment, against a median of 23.50%.
Bottom 21% of the Back Contact 450-500 W segment, against a median of 235.2.
The All Back Contact design eliminates front busbars, which increases the active surface area of the cell and reduces resistive losses. The maximum efficiency of this series reaches 23.6% – slightly higher than direct competitors (Recom Lynx 23.52%, Sunlike Solar SKT 23.52%) at the same power rating of 470 Wp.
The guaranteed annual degradation of ≤0.35% (years 2-30) is better than the typical 0.40%/year for N-type TOPCon modules. In practice, the module retains ≥88.85% of its power after 30 years, which, for a 10 kWp installation, translates to a real increase in cumulative energy generation of approximately 1.5–2 MWh over its entire lifespan compared to 25-year TOPCon products.
The manufacturer guarantees performance for 30 years, with a degradation rate of ≤1% in the first year and ≤0.35% per year thereafter, while comparable products (Recom Lynx, Sunlike Solar) typically offer a 25-year performance guarantee. The longer warranty period directly improves the IRR (Internal Rate of Return) of the project and facilitates bank financing.
The Pmax tc value of -0.29%/°C is more favorable than the typical -0.35%/°C for PERC modules and -0.30%/°C for average TOPCon modules. At an operating temperature of 70°C (typical summer temperatures in Poland), the difference in terms of thermal losses compared to PERC is approximately 1.7%, which translates to a real increase in output during August and July.
AIKO is listed on the BloombergNEF Tier 1 PV Module Manufacturers list for Q1 2026 (confirmed in Q3 2025 and Q1 2026). This status indicates acceptance by banks that finance commercial installations and reduces counterparty risk in long-term PPA or leasing agreements.
Despite its dual-glass (glass-glass) construction, the module is not bifacial (is_bifacial: false), which means that energy cannot be generated from the rear surface. For carport and flat-roof applications with a clear membrane, as the manufacturer specifies in the product description, bifacial versions can generate an additional 5–15% of energy per year.
The glass-to-glass construction increases the weight of the module to approximately 24 kg (1757 x 1134 mm), compared to approximately 21 kg for the glass-to-film equivalent. In installations on older roofs with dense configurations, it is necessary to verify the structural load-bearing capacity, which could result in additional costs for a structural analysis or reinforcement.
- At 23.1% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical Back Contact 450-500W modules
- 230.9 W/m² power density is 4.3 W/m² below Back Contact 450-500W median (235.2 W/m²) - requires larger installation area
- At -0.26%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for Back Contact 450-500W panels
- At 24.5 kg, weight matches the Back Contact 450-500W median
- Ranked #1570 out of 14005 panels for efficiency in the database
