Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The AIKO N-Type ABC White Hole (AIKO-A-MAH72Mw) series maximizes roof surface utilization through its All Back Contact (ABC) architecture - free of front busbars, enhancing light absorption and providing a distinctly cleaner, uniform aesthetic. The application of N-type cells helps minimize typical power losses over time and stabilize module performance under real-world conditions, especially during summer operation at high temperatures.
This series is designed for investors seeking more energy from the same surface area - ideal for residential roofs, commercial buildings, and projects where high power density and appearance are key (e.g., visible installations, premium buildings). In practice, the module reduces stress on construction structures and cabling, as achieving the projected yield requires fewer panels - a tangible advantage in limited spaces. What sets it apart from the competition is its front electrode-free surface, high operational efficiency in high temperatures, and low degradation rate, facilitating long-term annual production planning.

Residential, commercial, utility-scale and hot-climate.
Hot climates, tight roof space and roofs where every square metre has to count.
Bottom 6% of the Back Contact 600-650 W segment, against a median of -0.260. Ranked 2,165th in the whole database.
Bottom 14% of the Back Contact 600-650 W segment, against a median of 23.70%.
Bottom 14% of the Back Contact 600-650 W segment, against a median of 236.9.
The series achieves up to 24.0% module efficiency, exceeding all three comparable products: HT-SAAE HT66-18X (23.0%), Weran Solar LR7-72HTH (23.0%), and MY Solar G&A TOPCon (22.95%). AIKO maintains the top position in the TaiyangNews Top Solar Modules ranking for over 34 months, confirming the industry-wide consistency of this level of efficiency.
The ABC technology eliminates the front metal contacts, reducing carrier recombination and lowering the temperature coefficient to -0.26%/°C. Standard TOPCon and PERC modules in this power class exhibit a temperature coefficient of -0.30 to -0.35%/°C, which translates to a real increase of 4–9% in energy yield on days when module temperatures exceed 60°C.
The manufacturer guarantees ≥88.85% of the nominal power after 30 years, with a degradation rate of ≤0.35% per year (after the first year). Comparable products in the same segment do not publish degradation rates as low as this – typically 0.40–0.45%/year for TOPCon, which, when installed at 620 Wp, translates to a real increase of tens of kWh per year over a 25–30 year period.
The absence of front current paths eliminates internal shading at the cell level and improves light absorption at low angles of incidence (morning/evening). According to independent tests (TaiyangNews/Strategic Energy), ABC modules generate 4.9–50% more energy under partial shading compared to equivalent TOPCon modules.
AIKO is listed on the Bloomberg NEF's list of bankable manufacturers, which facilitates obtaining project financing and acceptance by insurance companies. The company has been operating since 2009, has its own production lines for ABC cells, and is independent of the technology licenses of its competitors.
The AIKO-A-MAH72Mw series, with a power output of 600–620W, has been discontinued and replaced by the Comet 1N (590–615W) series, as well as newer generations with higher efficiency ratings. This means that new modules for potential system expansion are now limited in availability, that matching power output may be challenging when replacing individual panels, and that active technical support for this specific series is no longer available.
The series is monofacial (is_bifacial: false), while its direct equivalent – MY Solar G&A N-Type TOPCon Bifacial 620 Wp – offers bifaciality, providing an additional 5–15% yield in ground-mounted installations with a reflective surface or white membrane roofs. This represents a significant disadvantage when calculating LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity) for commercial and industrial (C&I) and utility projects.
The warranty for the product is 15 years, while the newer AIKO Neostar (ABC, using the same technology) line offers a 25-year product warranty. In the premium segment, institutional and project-financing banks increasingly require a minimum of 20-25 years – a shorter period can negatively impact financing terms.
- At 23.2% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical Back Contact 600-650W modules
- Power density of 232.3 W/m² is 4.6 W/m² below Back Contact 600-650W median (236.9 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- Temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C is 0.03pp worse than Back Contact 600-650W median (-0.26%/°C) - higher losses in summer heat
- 28.2 kg weight - 4.1 kg lighter than Back Contact 600-650W median (32.3 kg), reducing installation effort
- Ranked #1306 out of 14005 panels for efficiency in the database
