Light for its output, no clear weak spot
The AIKO Neostar 3S54 (Mono-glass Module) is designed to achieve maximum yield from limited rooftop space, without compromising on aesthetics or reliability. Its key feature is the N-type ABC (All Back Contact) cells- with contacts moved to the rear, minimizing optical losses and maximizing light utilization under real operating conditions. In practice, this means higher energy output where every square meter counts.
A major advantage is cell-level optimization for partial shading, which helps mitigate production losses caused by factors like chimneys, antennas, dirt, or tree shadows. Additionally, the modules maintain a more stable power output in hot weather thanks to their favorable temperature coefficient, which is particularly important on heated rooftops during summer.
This is an excellent choice for investors seeking to expand installations in limited spaces, as well as for premium homes where a uniform, all-black appearance without visible busbars matters. Compared to many competitor panels, the 3S54 series places greater emphasis on real-world shading resistance, aesthetics, and long-term predictable performance.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, shaded-installations and hot-climate.
Top 24% of the Back Contact 450-500 W segment, against a median of 48.0.
The temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C is significantly better than the industry standard of -0.40%/°C (typical for PERC and many TOPCon panels). When a 65°C module is heated in a typical Polish summer, the 3S54 series loses approximately 10.4% of its power, compared to approximately 16% for standard panels – resulting in a higher power output during months with the most sunlight.
N-type ABC (All Back Contact) cells move all electrical contacts to the back of the cell, eliminating shading caused by busbars and ribbons. This allows for maximum efficiency of up to 24.3% and maximizes the capture of diffuse light, which is particularly important in the cloudy climate of Poland.
The manufacturer guarantees a degradation rate of ≤1% in the first year and ≤0.35%/year from year 2 to 30, resulting in ≥88.85% of the nominal power after 30 years. Typical Tier-1 PERC/TOPCon panels (e.g., Jinko, Trina) offer a degradation rate of 0.40%/year and 84.8% after 25 years – the 3S54 series offers a more realistic production forecast throughout the entire lifespan of the installation.
The linear warranty on power output extends for 30 years (along with a 25-year product warranty), which exceeds the standard market warranty of 25 years. For banks and insurers, the longer warranty offered by Tier-1 manufacturers reduces project risk and improves financing parameters.
The absence of metallic busbars on the front surface and the dark glass create a uniform black appearance, which is highly valued in premium roof installations and areas subject to aesthetic requirements. Only a few manufacturers achieve a similar visual effect – for example, Gokin GK-5-54HG – but AIKO, as a Tier-1 brand, offers superior reliability.
The 3S54 series is a single-sided panel (is_bifacial: false), which means it does not generate additional power from reflected light from the ground. In installations on light, flat roofs or with white membranes, bifacial versions can generate 5–12% more energy per year without any additional surface area cost.
The maximum efficiency of 24.3% is identical to that of the Gokin GK-5-54HG and GK-5-54HGb (comparable products in the same power segment of 485 Wp). Any price or availability advantage offered by AIKO must be verified individually – the efficiency itself is not a differentiating factor.
- Efficiency of 23.3% matches the Back Contact 450-500W median
- Power density of 232.7 W/m² matches the Back Contact 450-500W median
- Temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C matches the Back Contact 450-500W median
- Weight of 21.0 kg (2.5 kg below Back Contact 450-500W median of 23.5 kg) allows easier transport and roof mounting
- In the top 7% for efficiency among all Back Contact panels
