Growatt NEO series are grid-tie microinverters designed for operation at the single-module level - especially where flexibility for expansion and better yields under suboptimal rooftop or balcony conditions matter. Their key advantage lies in independent MPPT trackers (depending on the variant, 2 or 4), enabling separate operation of different modules - a real benefit in partial shading, varying azimuths, or different tilt angles. In practice, this translates to more stable energy production, and the high European efficiency means the device maintains excellent results even under typical operating conditions in Poland, not just in a "laboratory."
The NEO series offers module-level monitoring and convenient communication (most often via WiFi) with the Growatt platform and app, simplifying diagnostics and quick detection of performance drops. The series is primarily intended for domestic installations and microinstallations, where safety, reliability, grid compliance, and a longer manufacturer's warranty period are key considerations.

Pros and cons
The NEO 600-1000M-X models achieve a maximum efficiency of 97.3% with an MPPT tracking efficiency of 99.5%, placing them on par with the Enphase IQ8HC (97.3%) - the undisputed leader in the microinverter segment.
Smaller models (600-1000M-X) have 2 independent MPPTs (Maximum Power Point Trackers), while larger models (1600M-X2, 2000M-X) have 4 trackers. This allows for the parallel operation of modules with different azimuth angles or tilt angles, which, in practice, minimizes losses due to partial shading in balcony and rooftop installations.
The integrated Wi-Fi module eliminates the need to purchase an external data logger (which is required by some models from SMA or Fronius). Monitoring at the module level is directly accessible through the ShinePhone app / the Growatt platform.
Full protection against dust and temporary immersion in water (up to 1 m / 30 minutes) - exceeding the standard IP65 used by many competitors, which translates to enhanced durability, especially in balcony installations exposed to heavy rainfall.
The series includes models ranging from 600 W (NEO 600M-X) to 2500 W (NEO 2500M-X2), allowing users to select a microinverter for both a small balcony-mounted system (800 W) and a full-scale prosumer micro-installation without having to change brands or ecosystems.
The standard warranty for NEO products is 10 years (with an optional extension to 15 years for an additional fee). Enphase IQ8 offers a standard 25-year warranty without any additional cost. Given the typical lifespan of installations, which is 25-30 years, this means there is a real risk of lacking after-sales service support from Growatt after the warranty period expires.
Growatt is not listed on the BNEF Tier-1 Bankable Manufacturers list (as of 2025/2026), which could present a barrier for projects requiring bank financing or portfolio insurance - a common limitation for commercial installations exceeding 50 kWp.
