The GoodWe ET G2 series are three-phase hybrid inverters, designed for installations that aim not only to feed energy back into the grid (grid-tie), but also to efficiently work with energy storage systems and provide backup power to selected circuits. Their key advantage lies in the three independent MPPTs, which help better utilize rooftops with different orientations or partial shading - each string can operate at its optimal point, translating to more stable production.

High European efficiency means the inverter maintains excellent performance in typical, real-world operating conditions in Poland, not just in the lab - less losses mean more energy for self-consumption. The ET G2 also offers intelligent operating modes and load control, making it easier to prioritize local consumption.

Monitoring is handled via the app and online platform, and communication can be done via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The series is compatible with high-voltage energy storage systems, and the required certifications and available warranty extension programs facilitate implementation in residential and larger, multi-family homes.

Pros and cons

5 positive · 2 caution
What owners get
Efficiency of 98.2% and the European standard of 97.5%

The maximum efficiency of models with a power output of 10-15 kW is 98.2%, while the European standard reaches 97.5% - values comparable to those of leading models (Fronius Symo GEN24: 98.0% EU, SMA STP SE: 97.6% EU). This indicates minimal conversion losses under typical Polish solar conditions.

3 independent MPPT + 200% oversizing DC

Models with 10, 12, and 15 kW of power are equipped with 3 independent MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controllers, and the maximum allowed DC over-sizing is 200% of the rated power. This allows for optimal balancing of strings with different orientations or partial shading, without the need for additional optimizers.

UPS-level backup with a response time of less than 10 ms + integrated AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter)

Switching to emergency mode within 10 ms qualifies the inverter to power sensitive devices (NAS, routers, refrigerators) without noticeable interruptions for the equipment. The built-in AFCI (Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter) detects arc faults and disconnects the circuit, reducing the risk of fire - a feature that is not present in many devices in this price range.

Wide compatibility with HV (high-voltage) storage systems

The official compatibility list includes the GoodWe Lynx Home F/F G2/D, LG RESU FLEX/Type-R/Prime, and Dyness Tower/Tower Pro and STACK100 batteries. This offers installers the freedom to choose batteries without risking warranty invalidation - a significant advantage over solutions within closed ecosystems.

Ability to process up to 6 pieces simultaneously + 100% asymmetrical loading

The series supports simultaneous connection to up to 6 inverters (system power up to 90 kW), which enables scaling installations in multi-family buildings. Full support for asymmetrical phase loading eliminates the need for manual balancing of loads.

Trade-offs
6 kW and 8 kW models - only 2 MPPT

Smaller units (GW6K-ET-20, GW8K-ET-20) have 2 MPPTs instead of the 3 available in models with a power output of up to 10 kW. For installations with a roof having 3 different orientations or significant shading, the use of optimizers or redesigning the strings may be necessary, especially at lower power levels.

SEMS application - a simpler interface

The SEMS platform is functionally assessed as "basic" by Polish installers and SolarQuotes reviewers, in comparison to FusionSolar (Huawei) or the mySMA portal. A key limitation is the lack of advanced tariff scheduling functionality directly from the mobile app, without requiring web interface configuration.

About the GoodWe ET G2 series

6 answered

These answers cover the whole series. Where a figure differs, the specification above is this model's own.

What are the key differences between the GoodWe ET G2 and the previous ET series?
The ET G2 is the second generation, introducing several significant improvements. Primarily, it includes a grid stabilization function: when the voltage on one phase is too high, the inverter switches production to the other phases, preventing the system from shutting down unnecessarily. The maximum input current per string has also been increased (to 16A), allowing for the connection of modern, high-power modules. Available power options are 6, 8, 10, 12, and 15 kW.
What is the warranty on the GoodWe ET G2 inverter?
The standard warranty is 5 years, but GoodWe regularly extends its free extended warranty program for hybrid inverters, including the ET G2, to 10 years. This program was confirmed as valid in 2026. The warranty can also be purchased for 15 or even 20 years. It is advisable to register the device immediately after installation to benefit from longer protection without additional costs.
Which energy storage systems does the GoodWe ET G2 work with?
The ET G2 series is compatible with high-voltage energy storage systems. It officially works with GoodWe Lynx D and Lynx Home F batteries, as well as with popular batteries from other manufacturers such as BYD, Pylontech, and Dyness. The supported battery voltage range is 150-720 V, which provides flexibility in choosing and expanding the storage system.
Does the GoodWe ET G2 provide backup power during a blackout?
Yes. The inverter has a UPS function with a switchover time of less than 10 ms, meaning that most household devices (e.g., computers, refrigerators, LED lighting) will not notice a power interruption. Connection to the energy storage unit is required. Selected circuits are protected regardless of the state of the grid, which is particularly important in installations in areas with unstable power supply.
Will the GoodWe ET G2 inverter perform well when the solar panels on the roof are arranged differently or partially shaded?
Yes, that's precisely the purpose of the 3 independent MPPTs in the ET G2 series. Each tracker independently optimizes the operating point, so areas with different azimuths (e.g., south and east) or strings with partial shading do not reduce the overall output of the system. The MPPT efficiency is 99.5%, which minimizes energy losses.
Can the GoodWe ET G2 be installed outdoors?
Yes. The enclosure meets the IP66 standard, meaning it is dust-tight and resistant to strong water jets. The inverter can operate at temperatures from -25°C to +60°C, so Polish climate conditions do not pose any problems. Installation on the exterior wall of a building or in an unheated boiler room is fully permissible and is often used.
