Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The Ultra S mini series from Suntech consists of compact monocrystalline modules designed for installations where every square meter of roof space counts - the smaller footprint lets you fit more panels into limited areas without sacrificing power output. The panels use half-cut cell technology, splitting cells in half to reduce resistive losses and improve resistance to microcracks and partial shading. Suntech's current sorting process minimizes losses caused by current mismatch between cells, translating into higher overall system yield. The modules also deliver excellent low-light performance, generating more energy on cloudy days, in the morning, and at dusk - a real advantage in climates with variable sunlight. A lower operating temperature and favorable power temperature coefficient help maintain steadier output during hot summer months. The design has passed extended wind and snow load testing, and the IP68-rated junction box ensures reliable sealing in demanding environments - coastal areas, farms, or regions with high humidity. A long 25-year linear warranty makes this series a solid choice for both residential installations and smaller commercial projects where reliability on limited available space is the priority.

- Module efficiency of 20.0% is 1.8pp below average for database panels (median: 21.8%)
- Power density of 200.1 W/m² is 18.0 W/m² below database median (218.1 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- -0.36%/°C temperature coefficient - 0.06pp worse than database median (-0.30%/°C), expect higher hot weather losses
- At 20.3 kg, this panel is 6.2 kg lighter than database median (26.5 kg) - easier handling during installation
- #12298 for efficiency, #12425 for temperature performance out of 14129 panels
