The Mono S4 Halfcut Chroma Orange series is Solar Fabrik's answer for buildings where roof aesthetics matter just as much as system performance. The key feature is copper-red tinted front glass similar to RAL 8004, which blends the module into the color palette of traditional ceramic roof tiles and allows solar installations in places where classic black panels would be unacceptable - on historic buildings, in heritage conservation zones, or in old town centers. The panel uses bifacial N-Type TopCon half-cut cell technology in a glass-glass construction, delivering extra energy yield from the rear side of the module along with significantly higher mechanical and fire resistance compared to conventional backsheet modules. This construction also improves resistance to ammonia, salt, and hail, making the series a solid choice for agricultural sites and coastal regions. The manufacturer backs the module with a 30-year product warranty and linear performance warranty, reflecting confidence in the durability of the glass-glass build. It's a solution for investors, architects, and installers looking for a compromise between heritage protection requirements and real-world solar energy production.

Common questions

6 answered
Are Solar-Fabrik Mono S4 Halfcut Chroma Orange panels suitable for roofs with ceramic tiles in heritage conservation areas?
Yes, that's the main purpose of this series. The copper-red front glass, close to RAL 8004, blends the module into the color of traditional ceramic roof tiles, so the installation doesn't stand out against historic buildings. This solution is often accepted by conservation authorities in places where standard black panels would be rejected, such as old town centers or listed heritage buildings.
Does the colored glass reduce the panel's efficiency compared to black modules?
The tinted front glass causes a certain efficiency loss compared to standard black panels in the same series, since part of the light is absorbed or reflected by the pigment. Solar-Fabrik partly offsets this with bifacial TOPCon technology, which additionally captures light reflected off the roof on the rear side of the module, narrowing the yield gap.
What is bifacial N-type TOPCon technology and what advantages does it bring in this series?
TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) is an N-type cell technology offering higher efficiency and lower degradation than conventional PERC cells. In its bifacial version, the module also generates power from its rear side, using light reflected off the roof or surroundings. The glass-glass construction further increases cell rigidity and durability, resulting in more stable performance over the module's lifetime.
What is the maximum power output and warranty for this series?
Modules in the Mono S4 Halfcut Chroma Orange series reach up to 420 Wp. Solar-Fabrik backs them with a 30-year product warranty and a 30-year linear power warranty - among the longest terms on the market, reflecting the manufacturer's confidence in the durability of the glass-glass construction.
Will Chroma Orange panels hold up on a farm building or near the coast?
Yes. The glass-glass construction provides higher resistance to ammonia, salt, and hail compared to modules with a back sheet, making this series a good choice for livestock buildings, farms, and properties in coastal areas, where standard panels degrade faster.
Does installing Solar-Fabrik Chroma Orange panels require special mounting hardware or an inverter?
No, the modules are mounted on standard roof racking just like regular silicon panels, with no special hardware needed. However, due to the bifacial design, it's worth ensuring adequate clearance and a light, reflective surface beneath the panels, such as light-colored tiles, to make the most of the rear-side gain. The inverter should support the slightly higher voltages typical of bifacial modules.
