Space saver, heavy for its output
The Renesola RS4-480~500NBG-E1 series consists of bifacial N-type modules using TOPCon technology, designed for high productivity in real-world conditions, even when the installation does not have ideal sunlight. The use of a bifacial design with double glass allows for better utilization of reflected light from the ground, resulting in higher energy yields compared to traditional monofacial modules, especially on bright roofs and in ground-mounted installations. The MBB half-cut technology and precise cell cutting also contribute to stable operation and reduced losses within the module.
In practice, this series helps to address the issue of reduced production under low sunlight conditions, thanks to its good performance in low-light conditions and favorable temperature characteristics. It is a good choice for commercial installations, PV farms, and modern rooftop projects where long-term reliability and predictable energy yields are important.

Commercial and shaded-installations.
Weight-limited structures.
Top 16% of the N-type 500-550 W segment, against a median of 225.3.
Top 18% of the N-type 500-550 W segment, against a median of 22.54%.
Bottom 8% of the N-type 500-550 W segment, against a median of 50.0. Ranked 10,317th in the whole database.
The combination of N-type TOPCon cells with a bifacial dual-glass design delivers lower LID/LeTID degradation and additional albedo-driven yield, resulting in higher annual energy production than classic monofacial PERC modules.
The upper efficiency range of 23.17% clearly exceeds Silfab SIL HM (21%) and Selfa SV120M.2.4 (22.6%), meaning higher power density per m² and a smaller required installation area for the same nominal power.
The 30-year power warranty matches the premium standard now offered by leading tier-1 manufacturers, providing predictable yield forecasts for long-term PV project financing models.
Multi-busbar half-cut cells reduce resistive losses and lower the risk of power loss from partial shading or microcracks, improving operational stability in field conditions.
Renesola has operated since 2005 and holds tier-1 bankable status, easing project financing for commercial installations and solar farms; the series, launched in 2023, remains in active production (not discontinued).
The 15-year product warranty is shorter than the standard now offered by some tier-1 manufacturers (Jinko, Trina, LONGi), which have extended it to 25 years - a relatively weaker part of the warranty package compared to the same 30-year power warranty.
The maximum efficiency of 23.17% is lower than Gokin's GK-3-54HGF (24.5% at the same 500 Wp power class), meaning the Renesola module requires slightly more roof or ground area for comparable power output.
- At 23.2% efficiency, this panel is 0.6pp above typical N-type 500-550W modules (median: 22.5%)
- Power density of 231.7 W/m² packs 6.4 W/m² more into the same footprint vs N-type 500-550W median (225.3 W/m²)
- At -0.29%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for N-type 500-550W panels
- At 28.0 kg, this panel is 1.8 kg heavier than the N-type 500-550W median (26.2 kg) - more demanding for installation crews
- Bifacial design (80% factor) captures reflected light - adds 4-12% yield on ground-mount or white roof
