Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The LUXPOWER SERIES 5 series introduces a new quality to prosumer and commercial installations thanks to the use of gallium-doping technology, which effectively eliminates the problem of light-induced degradation (LID). The use of M10 type cells in Half-Cut architecture allows for a significant reduction in resistive losses and better performance in partial shading conditions, which directly translates into higher yields per square meter of roof area. The design based on multi-busbar 10BB cells guarantees a shorter current flow path, which minimizes the risk of micro-cracks and increases the mechanical stability of the modules. These panels are dedicated to investors looking for the perfect balance between high efficiency and durability in the demanding Polish climate, characterized by variable temperatures and high snow loads. They stand out from the competition with a low temperature coefficient, thanks to which they maintain high efficiency even on hot days. This solution effectively eliminates concerns about rapid cell aging, offering stable power output for many decades. The use of advanced insulating materials additionally protects the modules against the negative impact of the PID effect, which is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of the entire system. Thanks to an aesthetic finish and optimal dimensions, this series works great on both pitched roofs and in large business projects, ensuring a quick return on investment thanks to high power density.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, commercial, shaded-installations, cold-climate and hot-climate.
Hot climates and owners who want a long output guarantee.
Bottom 4% of the 405-605 W band, against a median of -0.300. Ranked 12,345th in the whole database.
Bottom 13% of the 405-605 W band, against a median of 30 yrs.
The gallium-doped PERC cells effectively reduce light-induced degradation (LID), as confirmed by the manufacturer's official datasheets. Combined with anti-PID protection, the module maintains more stable power output from day one compared to standard PERC cells without this modification.
The Half-Cut architecture combined with multi-busbar 10BB (MBB) cells shortens current flow paths, lowering resistive losses and reducing microcrack risk. This design also improves performance under partial shading, common on pitched roofs in the Polish climate.
Luxen Solar Energy, operating since 2005, has maintained Tier-1 status per BloombergNEF continuously since 2022, confirming the series' bankability and easing project financing through banks and lenders.
The manufacturer's declared low temperature coefficient allows LUXPOWER SERIES 5 modules to retain higher efficiency on hot days compared to older-generation PERC cells, relevant for summer irradiance peaks in Poland.
For select variants, the manufacturer offers a power warranty of up to 30 years, matching terms offered by leading N-type module manufacturers and far exceeding the standard 25-year stepped warranty typical of older PERC generations.
At 21.29–21.5%, PERC efficiency clearly lags behind comparable N-type models such as the Heliene 144HC M10 NTYP (23.02%) and Solarspace Lumina II (23.03%) — a 1.5–1.7 pp gap at the same 595 Wp max power means lower power density per m² of roof. In 2026, N-type technology already accounts for over 60% of global module production, positioning PERC as a technology exiting the premium segment.
The 25–30 year power warranty range indicates only some variants receive the full 30-year term, while others are capped at the standard 25 years. Competing N-type series often provide a uniform 30-year warranty across the entire product line, regardless of power variant.
- Module efficiency of 21.3% is 0.5pp below average for database panels (median: 21.8%)
- Power density of 212.7 W/m² is 5.4 W/m² below database median (218.1 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- At -0.36%/°C, loses 0.06pp more power per degree than database median (-0.30%/°C)
- At 25.5 kg, weight matches the database median
- Ranked #8519 out of 14005 panels for efficiency in the database
