Light for its output, modest efficiency
The Jolywood JW-HT144N series is based on pioneering N-type TOPCon cell technology, which sets new standards for efficiency in challenging lighting and atmospheric conditions. Thanks to the use of an N-type silicon-based architecture, these modules completely eliminate the problem of light-induced degradation (LID), which translates into significantly higher energy yields throughout the entire life cycle of the installation. Their unique feature is exceptional bifaciality, allowing for the generation of additional power from radiation reflected from the ground, making them an ideal choice for solar farms and large commercial projects. These panels solve the problem of efficiency drops on hot days thanks to a low temperature coefficient, which guarantees stable operation even in extreme sunlight. The JW-HT144N series stands out from the competition with its excellent resistance to PID phenomena and corrosion caused by salt spray or ammonia, making it perfect for demanding industrial and agricultural locations. By choosing these modules, investors gain a 30-year linear performance warranty, which, combined with an innovative design that minimizes the risk of micro-cracks, provides solid capital protection. This is a solution for professionals who focus on maximum profitability and the most modern technology currently available on the photovoltaic market.

Jolywood was the first to commercialize TOPCon at industrial scale — ahead of LONGi, JA Solar, and Jinko — and set the N-type M10 cell efficiency world record at 26.7% in 2023. N-type silicon substrate eliminates LID and LETID degradation inherent to P-type PERC, translating to a real 1–3% higher lifetime energy yield in long-term simulation models.
The top variant (590 Wp) achieves 22.84% module efficiency — virtually tied with the best-in-class peer AE Solar HORIZON CMD-144BDS (22.86%) and ahead of Talesun TM7G72M (22.8%) and Horay HS 182-144 TC-D (22.8%). Six power bins (565–590 Wp) allow precise matching to projects with varying mechanical or electrical constraints.
Warranted output levels: ≥99% in Year 1, ≥89.4% at Year 25, and ≥87.4% at Year 30, with a guaranteed annual degradation rate of 0.40%/year — materially better than the 0.45–0.55%/year typical of PERC modules. The 30-year term is 5 years longer than the standard 25-year warranty offered by peer comparables in this power class (Talesun, Horay Solar, AE Solar).
Bifacial architecture captures additional power from ground albedo, typically adding 5–25% yield depending on surface reflectivity. The temperature coefficient of Pmax is –0.28%/°C versus –0.35%/°C for PERC, meaning lower thermal losses during peak irradiance hours — a meaningful advantage in Mediterranean climates and during European summer heat events.
Jolywood holds BloombergNEF Tier-1 status as of Q2 2026, confirming eligibility for non-recourse project finance with independent banks. The 16 GW TOPCon cell factory in Shanxi province provides supply continuity and volume scalability for large EPC contracts.
The successor JW-HT144N-R0 already delivers 585–610 Wp and up to 23.4% module efficiency — 0.56 percentage points above this series' top variant (22.84%). For projects contracted in 2026, the newer generation provides higher specific yield on identical BoS infrastructure, weakening the economic case for specifying the JW-HT144N in new-build investments.
At ~16 GW TOPCon cell capacity, Jolywood is substantially smaller than Jinko (~80 GW), JA Solar (~70 GW), or LONGi (~60 GW). Fewer European regional offices and certified service partners may result in slower warranty claim turnaround compared to top-tier suppliers with established in-country support infrastructure.
- Module efficiency of 21.9% is 0.6pp below average for TOPCon 550-600W panels (median: 22.4%)
- At 218.7 W/m², this panel generates 5.7 W/m² less per unit area than TOPCon 550-600W median (224.4 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.30%/°C matches the TOPCon 550-600W median
- At 27.5 kg, this panel is 3.7 kg lighter than TOPCon 550-600W median (31.2 kg) - easier handling during installation
- Bifaciality factor of 80% can add 4-12% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
