Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The Jinko Solar Tiger N-Type 66TR series is designed to maximize energy yield from the same roof or ground area - without the need to add additional modules. Its key advantage is the N-type TOPCon technology, which helps maintain high efficiency even in hot conditions and under weaker sunlight, while also minimizing typical power losses in older systems over time. In practice, this means more stable annual returns year after year and better investment profitability.
What sets it apart from many competitive panels is its half-cell construction, which improves the module's performance under partial shading (e.g., from a chimney, antenna, or tree). The use of Tiling Ribbon (TR) reduces the gaps between cells, translating to better light utilization and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The series also employs multi busbar technology, which reduces electrical losses and supports long-term reliability.
The Tiger N-Type 66TR is an excellent choice for both residential and commercial installations, especially where every square meter counts and resilience to real-world conditions is crucial.

Signals from the data
Residential, commercial and shaded-installations.
Hot climates, tight roof space and roofs where every square metre has to count.
Bottom 7% of the N-type 400-450 W segment, against a median of -0.290. Ranked 8,846th in the whole database.
Bottom 14% of the N-type 400-450 W segment, against a median of 21.95%.
Bottom 14% of the N-type 400-450 W segment, against a median of 218.4.
N-type TOPCon cells degrade at approximately 0.4% per year versus 0.7% for P-type PERC. LID is only 0.26% after 60 kWh/m² exposure compared to 1.92% for conventional PERC modules (TÜV NORD test data). This translates to measurably higher energy yield across the system's full lifetime.
Jinko guarantees a minimum 87.4% of nominal power output after 30 years, with annual degradation not exceeding 0.4%. The market standard in this segment is a 25-year power warranty - the Tiger N-Type 66TR extends coverage by 5 additional years, directly improving project LCOE.
The JKM415N-6RL3 variant achieves 21.74% module efficiency, while direct peers in the same power class fall short: AE Solar AURORA AE MD-108 at 21.28%, LEDVANCE M395~415P54LM-BF-F3 at 21.25%, and Aptos Solar DNA 108-Monofacial at 21.25% - a gap of 0.46-0.49 percentage points. On a 30 m² rooftop this translates to measurably higher yield without adding extra modules.
Half-cut cell splitting reduces circulating currents and improves shade tolerance. Tiling Ribbon (TR) technology minimizes inactive gaps between cells, increasing the active area fill factor. Multi busbar shortens the current path and lowers resistive losses, enhancing long-term electrical reliability.
Jinko Solar is a consistent Bloomberg NEF Tier-1 bankable manufacturer - a mandatory criterion for bank and fund financing of utility and commercial PV projects. Founded in 2006 and operating as one of the world's largest module suppliers, Jinko substantially reduces counterparty risk over the warranty horizon.
The Tiger N-Type 66TR was manufactured between 2020 and 2022 and is no longer in production. Availability is limited to distributor stock. System expansions after inventory depletion may be impossible to match with identical modules, creating mismatch issues in degradation profiles and I-V curves between module generations.
The panel has no bifacial capability (is_bifacial: false). Ground-mounted systems or installations with reflective substrates (gravel, concrete, snow) cannot capture rear-side irradiance. Peer comparable LEDVANCE M395~415P54LM-BF-F3 in the same power class offers a bifacial variant (BF designation), which under favorable albedo conditions adds 5-20% additional energy generation.
- Efficiency of 21.2% is 0.7pp below the N-type 400-450W median (21.9%)
- 212.2 W/m² power density is 6.2 W/m² below N-type 400-450W median (218.4 W/m²) - requires larger installation area
- At -0.34%/°C, loses 0.05pp more power per degree than N-type 400-450W median (-0.29%/°C)
- At 20.8 kg, this panel is 1.2 kg lighter than N-type 400-450W median (22.0 kg) - easier handling during installation
- #9134 for efficiency, #8846 for temperature performance out of 14129 panels
