Middle of its segment, modest efficiency
The Hiwatt Solar HW-P372H(330-350) photovoltaic module series is an efficient 72-cell solution designed to maximize yields in commercial installations and solar farms. The main advantage of this line is the use of half-cut cell technology, which effectively reduces internal resistive losses and improves module efficiency under partial shading conditions. By dividing the panel into two independent sections, the system generates energy even with limited sunlight on part of its surface, which directly translates into higher investment profitability. The construction stands out for its excellent resistance to potential-induced degradation (PID), ensuring stable operation and maintenance of technical parameters over many years of service. Optimization of the electrical design has allowed for a significant reduction in the risk of hot-spots, which increases fire safety and extends cell lifespan. The Hiwatt Solar HW-P372H is also characterized by high resistance to mechanical loads, such as snow pressure or strong wind gusts, making it a reliable choice for the demanding Polish climate. These panels represent an ideal balance between proven technology and low levelized cost of energy (LCOE), being the optimal choice for investors focusing on reliability and predictable return on capital.

Signals from the data
Commercial and shaded-installations.
Tight roof space, roofs where every square metre has to count and weight-limited structures.
Bottom 9% of the 230-430 W band, against a median of 20.30%. Ranked 13,522nd in the whole database.
Bottom 9% of the 230-430 W band, against a median of 202.8. Ranked 13,514th in the whole database.
Bottom 18% of the 230-430 W band, against a median of 55.7.
The 72-cell module is split into two independent electrical sections, minimizing resistive losses and maintaining power output under partial shading conditions. In typical rooftop scenarios, this translates to a real annual yield gain of 2–3% compared to conventional full-cell modules.
The module incorporates anti-PID design measures, which is critical for long-term performance in commercial and utility-scale plants — especially in 1000 V DC systems — where potential-induced degradation can silently erode output. This stabilizes yields across the full investment horizon.
The manufacturer provides a 25-year power warranty (0.55% annual degradation) and a 12-year product/workmanship warranty. The power warranty parameters meet the Tier-1 segment standard and satisfy typical bankability due diligence requirements for sub-1 MW projects.
The frame is certified for high snow and wind loads — a critical specification for Polish installations where snow loads can exceed 2,400 Pa. The half-cut architecture also reduces hot-spot risk, extending cell longevity under harsh climate conditions.
The HW-P372H(330–350) series has been officially discontinued. This means no availability of matching modules for system expansion, limited warranty replacement stock, and potential difficulties sourcing like-for-like replacements in case of panel failure years into operation.
The 16.7–17.8% efficiency range is significantly lower than comparable models in the same power class (≤350 Wp): JA Solar JAM60D10 reaches 20.4%, Jinko JS Solar 120 Series 20.7%, and YS Solar SM-90 21.0%. For the same rooftop or field area, this translates to roughly 15–18% less installed capacity.
Hiwatt Solar does not appear on the BNEF Tier-1 bankable manufacturers list, which restricts deployment in projects seeking external debt financing. Banks and infrastructure funds standardly require Tier-1 modules or additional credit enhancements, increasing transaction costs.
The panel is monofacial, while the comparable JA Solar JAM60D10 is available in a bifacial version (/MB suffix). Bifacial modules generate an additional 5–20% energy from rear-surface albedo reflections, especially on light-colored concrete or ground-mounted arrays — an advantage this series cannot deliver.
- At 16.7% efficiency, this panel is 5.1pp below the database median of 21.8%
- Power density of 167.4 W/m² is 50.7 W/m² below database median (218.1 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- At -0.34%/°C, loses 0.04pp more power per degree than database median (-0.30%/°C)
- 21.5 kg weight - 5.0 kg lighter than database median (26.5 kg), reducing installation effort
- Ranked #13522 out of 14005 panels for efficiency in the database
