Efficiency leader, short guarantee
The Heliene 108HC M10 NTYP SL All Black series consists of modules designed for installations where both high energy production and a consistent, black appearance on the roof are important. The use of monocrystalline N-type (NTYP) cells helps to minimize typical power losses over time, while the half-cut (108 cells) design improves performance under partial shading and reduces the risk of overheating, resulting in more stable performance in real-world conditions.
The anti-reflective glass also deserves attention, as it better "collects" light during the day, and the mechanically refined frame is designed to withstand wind and snow loads - important in more challenging locations and for larger roof areas. The module also has high PID resistance, which increases reliability in environments with high humidity and temperature.
This is a good choice for modern residential and small commercial installations, especially where a full black aesthetic must be combined with premium technology.

N-type cells virtually eliminate the Light-Induced Degradation (LID) effect, which in P-type PERC modules can consume up to 2% of rated power during the first weeks of operation. The temperature coefficient for Pmax is -0.30%/°C, translating to measurably lower summer losses compared to PERC modules (~-0.35%/°C) — a significant advantage in high-irradiance locations or on rooftops with poor ventilation.
A peak efficiency of 22.53% places the series on par with the Seraphim Nebula (22.53%) and above the KDM Kingdom Solar KDM SERIES (22.5%). The only direct competitor in this power class offering higher efficiency is the Luxor ECO LINE N-TYPE TOPCon Non-Reflect (22.86%), although Luxor does not offer a full-black variant.
Heliene (founded 2010, Sault Ste. Marie, Canada; manufacturing lines in Canada and Minnesota, USA) holds Tier 1 bankable status and was named a PVEL Top Performer 2022 by the independent laboratory PV Evolution Labs. North American production eliminates exposure to anti-dumping tariffs on Chinese imports and simplifies project qualification for the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) investment tax credit in the US market.
Splitting each cell in half reduces internal resistance and limits losses under partial shading conditions — each half-row operates independently of the other. Combined with three junction boxes (the standard configuration for 108HC modules), the series is less susceptible to localized shading than full-cell modules, directly improving annual energy yield on complex rooftop layouts.
A 25-year product warranty paired with a 25-year linear power warranty (to 90% of rated power after 25 years per the datasheet) is the premium-segment benchmark, confirming the manufacturer's financial and service reliability. The All Black variant (black frame, black backsheet, black cells) addresses the growing residential installation market, where aesthetics rank alongside performance as a purchase criterion.
In the same power class (up to 440 Wp), the Luxor ECO LINE N-TYPE TOPCon Non-Reflect achieves 22.86% efficiency versus 22.53% for Heliene — a 0.33 percentage-point gap that translates to approximately 1.4% less energy generated annually for an identical module footprint. For installations with constrained roof area, this difference may be a decisive argument in favor of Luxor.
The series is monofacial (SL – Single Layer backsheet), which precludes any albedo gain; bifacial TOPCon modules typically harvest 5–15% additional energy under favorable conditions (light-colored ground surface, ground-mount installation). This is a deliberate design choice — the full-black construction requires an opaque backsheet — however, installers executing ground-mount or utility-scale projects should evaluate bifacial alternatives.
- Efficiency of 22.5% is 0.5pp above the TOPCon 400-450W median (22.0%)
- 225.3 W/m² power density - 5.1 W/m² more than TOPCon 400-450W median (220.2 W/m²), more power per roof area
- Temperature coefficient of -0.30%/°C matches the TOPCon 400-450W median
- In the top 28% for efficiency among all TOPCon panels
