Strong in heat, no clear weak spot
The Heckert Solar NeMo® 4.2 80 M BLACK series consists of monocrystalline modules designed to combine high performance with the aesthetics of modern installations. It utilizes an 80-cell configuration and a Querstring design, which reduces stress in the cell connection area - effectively minimizing the risk of micro-cracks and helping to maintain stable performance over the long term, especially in demanding mounting conditions.
For designers and installers, the lower operating current is also an important feature, allowing the modules to be used in shorter strings and easily integrated with inverters and optimization solutions. This series utilizes PERC technology and laser-prepared cells, which supports consistent performance and resistance to loads.
The BLACK version with a black frame looks particularly good on residential roofs, commercial buildings, and structures with high aesthetic requirements - without compromising durability and reliability.

Top 15% of the PERC 350-400 W segment, against a median of -0.350.
Heckert Solar produces modules at its Chemnitz and Langenwetzendorf (opened 2021) plants with a combined capacity of 800 MWp/year. Each module undergoes approximately 60 quality and safety tests, carries VDE certification, and the brand has continuously won the Top Brand PV award (EuPD Research) every year since 2015 — one of the longest uninterrupted streaks among European PV manufacturers.
The 80 half-cut cell layout in cross-string (Querstring) configuration reduces operating current (IMPP) to ~8.52 A (395 Wp variant) versus ~10 A typical for conventional 108-cell G1 modules at equivalent power. Lower current reduces thermomechanical stress at cell interconnections, while a crosslinking rate >80% (extended lamination cycle) inhibits moisture ingress and improves microcrack resistance during installation and long-term operation.
Certified for snow load of 5,400 Pa and wind load of 2,400 Pa, exceeding the standard IEC 61215 requirement of 2,400/2,400 Pa. Anti-reflective coated 3.2 mm ESG glass combined with Stäubli MC4 IP68 connectors ensures reliable sealing on pitched rooftops exposed to driving rain and condensation.
The best-in-series 405 Wp variant achieves 20.8% module efficiency, exceeding all direct peer comparables: EGing PV STAR Series (20.74%), VSUN405-108BMH-DG (20.74%), and Goldi Solar GS10-M108-BF (20.66%). The series leads the peer group on efficiency without sacrificing mechanical or electrical specifications.
Black anodized aluminum frame and black backsheet deliver a uniform appearance on pitched roofs, facades, and carports. Unlike many budget full-black modules, this series maintains full mechanical certification and standard frame corrosion protection, avoiding the durability compromises sometimes associated with all-black aesthetics.
P-type PERC cells exhibit annual degradation of 0.5–0.7%/year versus 0.4–0.5%/year for N-type TOPCon and are susceptible to LID (Light-Induced Degradation) from boron-oxygen defects. Heckert Solar itself launched an N-type TOPCon series in 2025 with a 30-year product warranty, clearly signaling that the NeMo 4.2 80 M is a previous-generation product — a relevant consideration for systems designed to operate 25+ years.
The series is monofacial (is_bifacial: false), while direct peer VSUN405-108BMH-DG features a dual-glass (DG) construction that enables bifacial gain of an estimated 5–15% in ground-mounted and carport applications with reflective ground surfaces. For dark-surface pitched rooftops the difference is negligible, but for utility-scale and agri-PV projects this represents a concrete competitive disadvantage.
German production incurs significantly higher BoS costs than peer comparables manufactured in China (EGing PV, Goldi Solar, VSUN). Market data from inutec-int.com indicates approximately €104.78/module for the 395 Wp variant (April 2024, ~€265/kWp), while comparable Chinese Tier-1 PERC modules were available below €200/kWp in the same period — a CAPEX premium of roughly 25–35% that adversely affects LCOE in larger projects.
- 20.1% module efficiency - 0.7pp better than the PERC 0-400W median of 19.4%
- Power density of 200.2 W/m² packs 5.8 W/m² more into the same footprint vs PERC 0-400W median (194.4 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.34%/°C matches the PERC 0-400W median
- #12102 for efficiency, #8778 for temperature performance out of 14005 panels
