Space saver, short guarantee
The Q-Cells Q.TRON AC SERIES are AC-type panels - specifically, modules with factory-integrated microinverters that immediately deliver ready-made AC power output on the roof. This approach genuinely shortens installation, reduces the number of connections, and simplifies logistics on-site, eliminating the need for separate combiner box selection and string inverter installation. In practice, the investor also gains monitoring at the level of a single module, which facilitates the quick detection of shading, soiling, or faults and enables maintaining performance at a stable level for years. The foundation of this series is the N-type TOPCon cell technology and design solutions referred to as Q.ANTUM NEO, focused on better performance under real-world conditions and slower degradation over time. For single-family homes and complex roof geometries, greater tolerance to partial shading is also crucial, thanks to the module-level power optimization. The Q.TRON AC SERIES stands out because it combines safety and compliance with rapid shutdown requirements with service convenience and the flexibility of expanding the installation - without the need to reconfigure the entire system.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential and shaded-installations.
Owners who want a long output guarantee and hot climates.
Top 9% of the N-type 400-450 W segment, against a median of 218.3. Ranked 4,099th in the whole database.
Top 10% of the N-type 400-450 W segment, against a median of 21.91%. Ranked 4,222nd in the whole database.
Bottom 11% of the N-type 400-450 W segment, against a median of 30 yrs.
Bottom 25% of the N-type 400-450 W segment, against a median of -0.290.
The module outputs AC power directly via the built-in Q.MI.349B-G1 microinverter, eliminating the need for a separate string inverter and simplifying DC wiring and rooftop installation.
The AC architecture reports production data per individual panel (via the Q.OMMAND app), enabling faster detection of shading, soiling, or cell-level faults compared to a conventional string setup.
N-type technology reduces LID/LeTID degradation and improves high-temperature performance versus older PERC cells, supporting a stable annual yield at 21.3-22.5% efficiency.
The AC microinverter architecture meets rapid shutdown requirements without extra optimizers, simplifying fire-safety design and inspection compared to string-inverter systems.
Q-Cells (South Korea, founded 1999) is a Tier-1 bankable manufacturer offering 25-year product and power warranties, on par with peers like JA Solar (JAM54D40, up to 440Wp, 22.5% efficiency).
Maximum efficiency of 22.5% is lower than Luxor Solar's ECO LINE N-TYPE TOPCon (22.86% at the same 440Wp power class), meaning slightly less energy yield for the same roof area.
The Q.MI.349B-G1 microinverter outputs roughly 349W AC from a 430Wp DC module (DC/AC ratio ~1.23), which clips a portion of peak power output during high-irradiance conditions.
- 22.5% module efficiency - 0.6pp better than the N-type 400-450W median of 21.9%
- 225.3 W/m² power density - 7.0 W/m² more than N-type 400-450W median (218.3 W/m²), more power per roof area
- Temperature coefficient of -0.30%/°C matches the N-type 400-450W median
- Ranked #4222 out of 14005 panels for efficiency in the database
