Middle of its segment, short guarantee
The Hanersun HN18-54HB series is designed for installations where high energy production and a convenient module format are key. A major advantage is the combination of a half-cut construction with MBB technology, which effectively reduces connection losses and improves performance under partial shading. Thanks to high cell density, the module efficiently utilizes available space, and a refined connection architecture minimizes the risk of local overheating.
In practice, this series helps to solve common roofing problems: limited space, variable sun exposure, and the need for stable performance on hot days. It is a good choice for single-family homes and small businesses, but also for projects where repeatability of parameters and efficient logistics are important. Compared to the competition, the HN18-54HB stands out due to its compatibility with popular mounting systems and inverters and its focus on long-term reliability - without unrealistic promises, but with a clearly thought-out module design.

Signals from the data
Residential, commercial and shaded-installations.
Owners who want a long output guarantee, tight roof space and roofs where every square metre has to count.
Bottom 7% of the TOPCon 400-450 W segment, against a median of 30 yrs. Ranked 9,798th in the whole database.
Bottom 8% of the TOPCon 400-450 W segment, against a median of 22.00%. Ranked 8,904th in the whole database.
Bottom 10% of the TOPCon 400-450 W segment, against a median of 220.2.
The half-cut cell design reduces series resistance, while the multi-busbar (MBB) architecture minimizes current losses across the busbars. In practice, this translates to improved performance under partial shading conditions and a lower risk of localized hot spots compared to full-cell modules with 3–4 busbars.
The maximum module efficiency of 21.25% is equivalent to directly comparable models such as the LEDVANCE M395~415P54LM-BF-F3 (21.25%) and the Aptos Solar DNA 108-Monofacial (21.25%), indicating no energy yield penalty relative to direct competitors in this format (54-cell, 415 Wp).
The series encompasses both PERC and TOPCon variants. TOPCon modules exhibit a lower light-induced degradation (LID) rate and a superior temperature coefficient of power (typically −0.30%/°C vs. −0.35%/°C for PERC), which meaningfully increases annual energy yield in hot climates.
The manufacturer provides a 25-year linear power output warranty — the industry standard shared by all comparable competitors (AE Solar, LEDVANCE, Aptos Solar) — ensuring predictable degradation curves (DCR) for project finance and bankability analyses.
Production was discontinued in 2023. The unavailability of new modules from this series creates challenges for expanding existing installations, limits access to matched replacements in the event of module failure, and poses a risk of serviceability issues once the product warranty expires (12 years).
Hanersun did not achieve BNEF Tier 1 status until Q2 2023 — coinciding with the phase-out of the HN18-54HB series. For most of the production cycle (2021–2022), the manufacturer was absent from the bankable supplier list, which may have complicated project financing and equipment leasing for financial institutions requiring BNEF certification.
The series datasheet specifies Fire Safety Class C under IEC 61730 — the lowest of the three classifications (A/B/C). This may represent a formal constraint for rooftop installations in close proximity to adjacent structures, or for projects where local building codes mandate Class A or Class B compliance.
- At 21.2% efficiency, this panel is 0.8pp below the TOPCon 400-450W median of 22.0%
- Power density of 212.5 W/m² is 7.7 W/m² below TOPCon 400-450W median (220.2 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- -0.31%/°C temperature coefficient - 0.02pp worse than TOPCon 400-450W median (-0.29%/°C), expect higher hot weather losses
- #8904 for efficiency, #8005 for temperature performance out of 14005 panels
