The Blackstar Satin series addresses one of the most overlooked challenges in photovoltaics: glare caused by standard solar panels. Thanks to a satin-finish glass with a luminance of only 3600 cd/m², these modules virtually eliminate the blinding effect, making them ideal for installations in dense residential areas, along roads, and near airports. This is the first and only series of solar panels with this technology to be awarded the Cradle to Cradle certification at the Gold level. N-type TOPCon bifacial cells provide excellent energy yields even in diffuse light, while the robust 2+2 mm glass-glass construction ensures exceptional durability - the module withstands snow loads of up to 8100 Pa and hail of class 3 (30 mm diameter). Resistance to ammonia and salt fog makes Blackstar Satin ideal for both agricultural and coastal environments. A 30-year product and performance warranty with a degradation rate of only 0.31% places this series among the leaders in the market. Manufactured in the EU, with a recycling rate of 98.8% and an A-class efficiency, these panels combine high efficiency with real environmental responsibility.

Common questions

6 answered
Are Solitek Blackstar Satin panels suitable for installations near roads or airports?
Yes, that is exactly the use case the Blackstar Satin series was designed for. The matte satin glass reduces reflected light luminance to just 3,600 cd/m², which is more than three times lower than standard panels and well below the 10,000 cd/m² threshold considered safe for road and air traffic. These are the only panels in the world combining this anti-glare technology with a Cradle to Cradle Gold certification.
What is the warranty on Solitek Blackstar Satin panels and what is the annual power degradation rate?
Solitek offers a 30-year product and performance warranty. The annual degradation rate is just 0.31%, meaning the modules retain more than 90% of their original rated power after 30 years. This is one of the best degradation rates available on the market, placing the Blackstar Satin series at the top tier in terms of long-term return on investment.
What does bifacial mean for the Blackstar Satin panel and does it actually generate more power?
Bifacial means the cells generate electricity from both sides of the module — from direct sunlight on the front and from light reflected off the ground or surrounding surfaces on the rear. In the Blackstar Satin, the N-type TOPCon bifacial design can boost energy yield by up to several percentage points compared to a standard monofacial module, especially on light-colored surfaces such as gravel, snow, or a white membrane rooftop, and in diffuse light conditions.
How durable are Solitek Blackstar Satin panels — can they handle harsh weather conditions?
The glass-glass construction (2+2 mm) provides exceptional mechanical resilience. The module is rated for snow loads up to 8,100 Pa and hail class 3 (30 mm diameter hailstone). Resistance to ammonia and salt mist makes Blackstar Satin suitable for both agricultural buildings and coastal installations. Fire class A rating further completes the safety profile of this series.
Is Solitek Blackstar Satin manufactured in Europe and does it carry any environmental certifications?
Yes, Solitek Blackstar Satin panels are manufactured in Lithuania, within the European Union. This is relevant when assessing the carbon footprint of an installation or meeting requirements of local incentive programs that favor European-made products. The series holds a Cradle to Cradle Gold certification and achieves a module recyclability rate of 98.8%, making it one of the most environmentally responsible panels on the market.
What is the maximum power output of the Solitek Blackstar Satin and how many modules do I need?
The peak power output of the Blackstar Satin module is 445 Wp. For a typical household consuming 3,500–5,000 kWh per year, you will generally need 8–14 modules, depending on location, roof pitch, and shading. An exact number should be calculated by a certified installer based on an energy audit and a site-specific system design.
