Space saver, no clear weak spot
The ENCOR EC460M-10-120S series is a premium-class photovoltaic module based on monocrystalline PERC half-cut cell technology, combining high productivity with exceptional resistance to harsh weather conditions. Half-cut cells effectively reduce resistive losses and minimize the negative impact of partial shading - high energy generation under diffuse light and low irradiance conditions is one of the key advantages of this series. Thanks to support for high system voltage, the panel allows for building longer string chains, which translates into a simplified installation design and reduced installation costs. Exceptional mechanical strength - confirmed by resistance to extreme snow and wind loads - makes this series perform excellently both in large-scale photovoltaic farms and industrial installations on buildings with demanding roof structures. The Encor brand, developed by the Polish manufacturer Corab, guarantees service availability and fast warranty claim processing throughout the country. A 15-year product warranty and a long-term linear performance warranty with an exceptionally low degradation curve ensure a stable and predictable return on investment - which is crucial when calculating the profitability of commercial and prosumer installations.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, commercial and shaded-installations.
Top 9% of the PERC 450-500 W segment, against a median of 208.5. Ranked 8,451st in the whole database.
Top 10% of the PERC 450-500 W segment, against a median of 20.82%.
Corab S.A. has been operating since 1991 and maintains a nationwide distribution and service network across Poland. In practice, this means fast warranty claim resolution without the need to contact an overseas support center — a significant advantage for installers and commercial investors who require a responsive turnaround time.
The panel is certified for snow load of 5,400 Pa and wind load of 2,400 Pa, placing it above the standard minimum (2,400/2,400 Pa per IEC 61215). These ratings make the series well-suited for installations in harsh climatic conditions and on industrial facilities with demanding roof structures.
A maximum system voltage of 1,500 V DC allows for longer string configurations than in 1,000 V installations, reducing BoS costs (cabling, number of MPPT inputs) and simplifying system design — particularly beneficial in commercial and utility-scale projects.
After the first year (degradation <2%), the panel loses only 0.55% of its power output annually, guaranteeing 84.8% of nominal power after 25 years. For a 10 kWp installation, this translates to tens of additional kWh per year compared to modules with a 0.7%/year degradation rate.
Half-cut cells reduce resistive losses and improve shadow tolerance under partial shading conditions. The IEC 62716 certification (ammonia resistance) broadens the application range to include agrivoltaic installations and livestock farming facilities.
Peer comparables at the same 460 Wp power class achieve efficiencies of 23% (Risen RSM96-11-440-460BNDG, N-type TOPCon) and 23.02% (SunKean SKT440~460M12-96D4) — a difference of approximately 1.7 percentage points. With a module area of approximately 2.16 m², this means that achieving the same installed capacity with ENCOR panels requires measurably more roof space or a higher module count.
Direct competitor Risen RSM96-11 employs N-type TOPCon, which offers lower LID/LeTID rates, a better temperature coefficient, and higher efficiency. PERC remains a proven technology, but in the 460 Wp segment an increasing number of manufacturers are migrating to N-type, which may affect the perceived technological currency of this series.
The 15-year product warranty meets the market minimum; however, peer product Risen RSM96-11 offers a 25-year product warranty in this class. For investors underwriting commercial projects with a horizon exceeding 15 years, the shorter coverage period increases exposure to out-of-pocket service costs after the warranty expires.
- At 21.3% efficiency, this panel is on par with typical PERC 450-500W modules
- Power density of 213.2 W/m² packs 4.7 W/m² more into the same footprint vs PERC 450-500W median (208.5 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.35%/°C matches the PERC 450-500W median
- In the top 61% for efficiency among all PERC panels
