Middle of its segment, weak in heat
The ENCOR EC415M series is a line of photovoltaic modules from the Polish brand Corab, available in two technological variants tailored to different investor needs. The N-type TOPCon Bifacial variant uses double-sided cells in a glass-glass construction - the panel absorbs radiation from both the front and rear side, translating into 10 to 30% additional energy compared to traditional monofacial modules. N-type technology performs particularly well under diffuse light conditions - during fog or overcast skies it generates more current than conventional P-type cells. The variant with a black frame and half-cut cells, in turn, is designed for rooftop installations on single-family homes, where aesthetics and low power degradation over time matter. Both variants feature a linear power warranty for 30 years and fire class A, meaning the highest level of fire safety. The ENCOR EC415M series is intended both for individual prosumers and small commercial installations, and Polish distribution and service shorten lead times and simplify warranty handling.

Corab S.A. — the manufacturer behind the ENCOR brand — operates a door-to-door service model backed by a nationwide network of field technicians in Poland. This significantly reduces response times for warranty claims and eliminates the need to ship modules abroad for servicing, a genuine competitive advantage over most Asian Tier-1 brands available on the Polish market.
The module matches its direct peer comparables: LEDVANCE M395~415P54LM-BF-F3 (21.25%), Aptos Solar DNA 108-Monofacial (21.25%), and AE Solar AURORA AE MD-108 (21.28%). It ranks in the upper efficiency band for the 108-cell half-cut format and holds its own against European competitors.
Half-cut cell technology reduces internal current by approximately 50%, lowering resistive losses and improving partial-shading tolerance. The 1500 V DC maximum system voltage enables longer strings, reducing BoS wiring costs in commercial and utility-scale installations.
The module withstands snow loads of 5400 Pa and wind loads of 2400 Pa, exceeding the standard IEC 61215 requirements of 2400 / 2400 Pa. This specification is particularly relevant in the Polish climate, where heavy snow accumulation on pitched roofs is common.
Corab S.A. has been operating since 1991 and is Poland's largest manufacturer of PV mounting structures, offering a complete ENCOR ecosystem encompassing modules, inverters, and energy storage. Its long track record substantially reduces the risk of warranty orphaning — a real concern with lesser-known brands.
The product warranty stands at 12 years, whereas leading Tier-1 manufacturers — including JA Solar, Trina Solar, Canadian Solar, and Risen — offer 15 years as standard. For systems with a planned service life of 25+ years, this gap may be consequential if mechanical defects emerge between years 13 and 15.
The declared output after 25 years is 84.8% (year 1: <2%; subsequent years: 0.55%/year), consistent with typical P-type PERC degradation profiles. By comparison, N-type TOPCon modules — including the bifacial variant of the same EC415M series — generally deliver ≥87–88% power retention after 25 years at an annual degradation rate of approximately 0.40%.
- Module efficiency of 21.2% is 0.8pp below average for TOPCon 400-450W panels (median: 22.0%)
- Power density of 212.5 W/m² is 7.7 W/m² below TOPCon 400-450W median (220.2 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- Temperature coefficient of -0.33%/°C is 0.04pp worse than TOPCon 400-450W median (-0.29%/°C) - higher losses in summer heat
- Ranked #8904 out of 14005 panels for efficiency in the database
