Middle of its segment, heavy for its output
The DualSun FLASH 500 Half-Cut Glass-Glass series are photovoltaic panels distinguished by their glass-glass construction instead of the traditional glass and backsheet laminate - this design provides exceptional mechanical strength and significantly longer module lifespan. The use of bifacial technology allows for energy generation from both the front and back of the panel, which, under favorable conditions, can increase energy yield by up to 30% compared to monofacial panels. Half-Cut technology reduces resistive losses and improves the performance of the installation in partially shaded conditions. A key advantage of this series is its recyclability rate of 94.7% - thanks to the use of glass instead of a backsheet, the module materials are much easier to recover at the end of their lifespan. The panels also have very high resistance to mechanical loads, corrosion, and moisture. This solution is designed for roof and ground-mounted installations that require durability, high performance in variable solar conditions, and compliance with sustainable development principles.

Weight-limited structures and hot climates.
Bottom 8% of the PERC 500-550 W segment, against a median of 53.0. Ranked 12,454th in the whole database.
Bottom 9% of the PERC 500-550 W segment, against a median of -0.350. Ranked 12,345th in the whole database.
Using two layers of tempered glass instead of a rear backsheet delivers higher mechanical resistance (load rating >5,400 Pa per IEC standards), eliminates the risk of potential-induced degradation (PID), and provides significantly better protection against moisture ingress and corrosion — critical for installations exposed to harsh weather conditions.
DualSun offers a 30-year warranty covering both the product and power output (>85% Pn after 30 years). Compared to peer comparables such as the Emmvee GRAPHITE and Lina Energy LEPV 132, where the industry standard remains 25 years, this represents a meaningful advantage for investors calculating the total LCOE of their system.
The glass-glass construction eliminates the hard-to-process Tedlar backsheet laminate, resulting in a 94.7% recyclability rate. This places the module among the most sustainable products on the market and facilitates compliance with upcoming EU circular-economy regulations, including the WEEE Directive.
Half-cut cell technology reduces resistive losses and mitigates the impact of partial shading by allowing both halves of the string to operate independently. In practice, this translates to lower yield losses caused by shading from chimneys, antennas, or adjacent module rows.
DualSun manufactures its modules in France (Jujurieux plant, ISO 9001 certified), which — given current supply-chain risk concerns and EU procurement preferences for locally produced goods — represents a concrete competitive advantage over panels sourced from East Asia.
The FLASH 500 Half-Cut Glass-Glass (PERC) series was in production for approximately one year (2022–2023) before being superseded by the TOPCon variant. This means no new modules are available for future system expansions, after-sales service may be difficult to obtain, and mixing these modules with newer panels carrying different electrical parameters carries a risk of mismatch.
At 500 Wp with an efficiency of 20.8%, this module underperforms its direct competitors: the Emmvee GRAPHITE (21.03%), the Lina Energy LEPV 132 HC ICON PLUS (21.06%), and significantly trails the Gokin GK-3-54HGF (24.5%). Lower efficiency means a larger roof area is required to achieve the same energy yield.
PERC cells exhibit higher light-induced degradation (LID) and light- and elevated-temperature-induced degradation (LeTID) rates, as well as a less favorable temperature coefficient of power, compared to newer N-type TOPCon cells — the technology DualSun adopted when replacing this series. In temperate climates, the difference in annual energy yield can reach 2–4%.
- Efficiency of 20.8% matches the PERC 500-550W median
- Power density of 210.6 W/m² matches the PERC 500-550W median
- At -0.36%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for PERC 500-550W panels
- At 30.2 kg (1.8 kg above PERC 500-550W median of 28.4 kg), requires checking roof load capacity
- #10457 for efficiency, #12345 for temperature performance out of 14005 panels
