Space saver, short guarantee
The BYD NLTK-27 425-445W series are modules based on N-type TOPCon cells, designed for high energy production under real operating conditions - even when the roof or ground-mounted structure does not provide ideal exposure throughout the day. The technology used helps to minimize losses due to temperature and supports more stable yields during transitional seasons, which translates into more predictable self-consumption and faster payback of the project.
In practice, they stand out due to their bifacial design, which can utilize reflected light from the ground - particularly valuable on bright roofs, membranes, gravel, or in ground-mounted installations. For investors, low degradation over time is also important, as it makes it easier to plan yields over a longer period and reduces the risk of discrepancy between forecasts and reality.
They are a good choice for homes, businesses, and PV farms where high surface efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with modern inverters and optimizers are key. Thanks to their robust construction and the sealing class of the mounting box, the modules also perform well in demanding weather conditions.

The peak efficiency of 22.79% (445W variant) outperforms all identified peer comparables: Q-Cells Q.TRON BLACK (22.3%), Solitek SOLRIF D Satin (22.06%), and SunEvo SE6-46SC (21.4%). Even the lower end of the series (21.76% for the 425W variant) exceeds the SunEvo by 0.36 percentage points, translating directly into higher energy yield per m² of roof area.
The N-type TOPCon cells of the NLTK-27 series achieve a temperature coefficient of approximately -0.30%/°C, versus the typical -0.34% to -0.37%/°C of older P-type PERC modules. Under Polish summer conditions (cell temperature ~60–70°C), this results in a realistically 1.5–2% higher energy yield compared to PERC modules. An additional benefit is the elimination of LID (Light-Induced Degradation), a phenomenon characteristic of P-type silicon.
The rear surface of the module is capable of absorbing light reflected from the ground (albedo), which in ground-mounted installations on light-colored gravel or white roofing membranes delivers an additional 5–15% energy yield compared to a monofacial equivalent (per manufacturer data and independent PVEL testing). This makes the series particularly well-suited for ground-mount and flat-roof installations.
BYD is listed among BNEF Tier-1 bankable manufacturers (Q1 2026), confirming its ability to secure project financing from independent commercial banks and significantly reducing credit risk for institutional investors. The company has been in operation since 1995 and is one of the world's largest cell manufacturers, minimizing the risk of warranty loss due to manufacturer insolvency over a 25-year horizon.
BYD specifies an annual degradation rate below 0.5% for its N-type line (after the first year), which under the 25-year power warranty translates to retention of more than 87% of nominal power at the end of the warranty period. This simplifies financial modeling and reduces the risk of discrepancy between projected and actual long-term energy yield.
The gap between the 425W variant (21.76%) and the 445W variant (22.79%) exceeds one percentage point. A buyer ordering modules without precisely specifying the variant may receive units whose efficiency is close to that of the SunEvo SE6-46SC (21.4%) rather than the expected premium tier. When designing an installation, it is essential to specify the exact variant and verify the power class actually delivered.
The 12-year product warranty (materials and workmanship) represents the industry standard; however, select European manufacturers and BYD's own higher-tier AURO N series offer 15–25 years of product warranty coverage. In the context of commercial installations subject to project finance requirements, this may present a limitation during due diligence.
- Efficiency of 22.8% is 0.8pp above the TOPCon 400-450W median (22.0%)
- Power density of 227.9 W/m² packs 7.7 W/m² more into the same footprint vs TOPCon 400-450W median (220.2 W/m²)
- Temperature coefficient of -0.30%/°C matches the TOPCon 400-450W median
- At 20.6 kg, this panel is 1.4 kg lighter than TOPCon 400-450W median (22.0 kg) - easier handling during installation
- Bifaciality factor of 80% can add 4-12% extra yield with reflective mounting surface
