Warranty pick, no clear weak spot
The Aptos Solar DNA-120-Monofacial panel series is an advanced solution designed to maximize energy yields while maintaining extreme mechanical resistance for every module. The use of patented DNA (Dual Nano Armor) technology allows for the effective elimination of energy losses resulting from micro-cracks and degradation caused by high temperatures, which directly translates into the stable operation of the entire system for decades. These panels stand out through the use of half-cut cells, which optimize performance in partial shading conditions, effectively solving one of the most common problems of residential rooftop installations. Thanks to the reinforced frame design, these modules offer exceptional resistance to extreme wind and snow loads, significantly exceeding standard market requirements, making them an ideal choice for the variable Polish climate. This is an offer aimed at investors looking for the perfect balance between modern aesthetics and technological reliability, especially in demanding residential projects and large commercial systems. Unlike cheaper competitors, this series focuses on an excellent temperature coefficient and long-term capital protection, ensuring realistically higher yields on sunny, hot days. By choosing this modern solution, the investor receives a certified product that generates free energy in a predictable and completely safe manner, regardless of the prevailing weather conditions.
Ranking
Signals from the data
Residential, commercial, shaded-installations and hot-climate.
Top 17% of the PERC 400-450 W segment, against a median of 25 yrs.
The efficiency of -0.36%/°C (Pmax) places the series above typical PERC modules, where the standard efficiency ranges from -0.37% to -0.40%/°C. In typical Polish summer conditions (where panels reach temperatures of 60-70°C), the difference of 0.03-0.04%/°C translates into a real increase of 1-2% in daily energy yield compared to the average PERC module.
The modules can withstand both front and rear loads up to 5400 Pa, which is more than twice the minimum specified in IEC 61215 (2400/2400 Pa). This is a significant advantage for Polish rooftop installations that are exposed to heavy, wet snow and strong winds in mountainous and coastal regions.
The patented Dual Nano Armor construction, featuring 10 ultra-thin busbars, reduces mechanical stress within the cells, thereby minimizing the risk of micro-cracks. The additional active surface area (approximately 5% more than in standard cuts) improves performance without increasing the module's size.
The use of half-cut cells reduces the working current by half (lower resistive losses) and limits the impact of partial shading on the entire string. The achieved level of 6 salt spray resistance (according to IEC 61701) enables installation in marine and industrial environments.
The manufacturer guarantees a minimum 82.4% of the nominal power output after 30 years, with an annual decrease of ≤0.54% (after the first year). A comparable product from Risen, the RSM96-11-440-460BNDG, also offers a 30-year lifespan, but the DNA-120 series remains competitive in this regard as a monolithic PERC with extended protection.
The best efficiency achieved in this series is 21.26%, while the Risen RSM96-11-440-460BNDG (n-type TOPCon, with the same power range) achieves 23%, and the SunKean SKT440~460M12-96D4 – 23.02%. A difference of approximately 1.8% indicates the need to install approximately 8-9% more module area to achieve the same peak power, which could be a limitation in projects with limited roof space.
Aptos Solar (founded in 2019, based in the USA) is not listed on the BNEF Tier 1 Q1 2026 list. This essentially means that it would face difficulties in obtaining bank financing for large commercial installations, where lenders typically require Tier 1 status. A comparable, established company is Risen Energy, which has a long-standing presence in global markets.
The standard factory warranty covers the product for 15 years and the power output for 25 years. Achieving a 30-year product warranty requires purchasing an optional upgrade package. Investors who do not purchase this package receive a shorter product warranty than the marketing materials suggest, which should be verified before making a purchase.
- Efficiency of 20.6% matches the PERC 400-450W median
- At 205.7 W/m² power density, roof space requirements are typical for PERC 400-450W panels
- At -0.35%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for PERC 400-450W panels
- At 24.2 kg, this panel is 2.2 kg heavier than the PERC 400-450W median (22.0 kg) - more demanding for installation crews
- In the top 80% for efficiency among all PERC panels
