Light for its output, modest efficiency
AIKO ETFE Solar Panels Series - Flexible and lightweight, semi-flexible modules designed for situations where a traditional framed panel is simply impractical. A key advantage is the ETFE coating - resistant to UV radiation, salt, and harsh conditions, while also allowing better light transmission than popular PET laminates. This ensures that the modules maintain their aesthetics and stable performance for longer, even in challenging outdoor environments.
The use of modern back contact monocrystalline solar cells allows for minimizing losses due to shading and improves efficiency, which is crucial when every square centimeter counts. The flexible design makes installation on slightly curved surfaces easier - without heavy frames and without lifting the roof load.
This solution is ideal for users who need power outside of a standard installation: campers, boats, off-grid setups, roofs with limited load-bearing capacity, as well as mobile projects. Compared to the competition, this series stands out due to its greater laminate durability, improved environmental resistance, and easier integration on unconventional surfaces.

With an efficiency of 18.73-19.22%, this series outperforms its direct competitor in the flexible class - DMEGC GH400M10T-B48HST (15.48%) by more than 3.7 percentage points, which translates to approximately 24% more energy generated from the same surface area on a camper or boat.
ETFE (fluoropolymer) maintains high light transmission and UV, salt, and moisture resistance for over 20 years of operation without yellowing, unlike popular PET laminates used by budget-conscious manufacturers of flexible panels. It is particularly important in marine and off-grid environments.
AIKO has maintained BNEF Tier 1 status since Q3 2025 (verified by BNEF Tier 1 Methodology, March 2026), placing it among the top 2% of over 17,000 manufacturers. This ensures access to bank financing for projects and provides credible 25-year guarantee options.
The manufacturer guarantees stable power output for 25 years, which is the standard for high-quality rigid panels. In the flexible segment, where many competitors only offer 10-year performance warranties, this is a significant advantage when calculating the total cost of ownership (TCO) for off-grid installations.
The design of back-contact cells (electrodes on the rear) eliminates metallic busbar shadows from the front of the cell and reduces partial shadowing losses - which are crucial on irregular surfaces (e.g., camping roofs, boat decks), where perfect panel alignment is impossible.
Monocrystalline PERC cells exhibit a higher Light Induced Degradation (LID) rate in the first year of operation compared to N-type TOPCon/HJT/ABC. AIKO utilizes ABC technology in its flagship rigid (Neostar, Stellar) modules, achieving >25% module efficiency - however, this technology is not available in the flexible ETFE series format, which represents a technological step backward compared to the company's own product portfolio.
Within a group of comparable products, the 400 Wp series achieves a maximum of 19.22%, while Meyer Burger White achieves 21.7% (+2.5 percentage points), and Solaria PowerXT achieves 20.2% (+1 percentage point). In situations where both rigid and flexible panels can be installed, the difference in efficiency can be a deciding factor in the choice of installation type.
- Efficiency of 19.2% is 1.4pp below the PERC 400-450W median (20.6%)
- Power density of 192.1 W/m² is 14.1 W/m² below PERC 400-450W median (206.2 W/m²) - needs more roof space
- At -0.37%/°C, loses 0.02pp more power per degree than PERC 400-450W median (-0.35%/°C)
- At 6.2 kg, this panel is 15.8 kg lighter than PERC 400-450W median (22.0 kg) - easier handling during installation
- #12940 for efficiency, #13161 for temperature performance out of 14129 panels
