Middle of its segment, modest efficiency
The AE Solar METEOR CMD-108BDE (Black Double-Glass) series is a range of modules designed for maximum performance, where both efficiency and durability are crucial. The use of N-type TOPCon cells ensures stable operation over a long period and better light utilization in conditions of lower sunlight. The bifacial design allows for energy generation from both sides, which helps to increase production on bright surfaces, flat roofs, and ground-mounted structures.
A key feature of this version is double-glass, which improves resistance to moisture, corrosion, and mechanical stress - a significant advantage in installations exposed to harsh weather conditions. The full black finish, valued in premium installations where aesthetics are important, adds to the overall appeal.
This is a good choice for homes, businesses, and commercial projects that require high performance, a robust structure, and predictable yields without compromising on quality.

The temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C represents a tangible advantage over PERC modules (-0.35%/°C) – at a typical module temperature of 50°C, the power loss is approximately 8.7% compared to 10.5% for PERC, resulting in higher energy yield on hot days and greater long-term performance stability throughout the lifespan of the installation.
The manufacturer offers a 30-year warranty on both the product and the power output – while direct comparisons (Luxen LUXPOWER N5, ZNShine ZXM7-UHLDD108, Solitek SOLID Blackstar) typically operate under 25-year power output warranties. This means full coverage for the typical lifespan of a commercial installation without the need to renegotiate terms.
AE Solar has been included in the BNEF Tier 1 list for the 16th consecutive quarter (Q1 2025), and as the only European manufacturer, it achieved a "high bankability" rating in 2024. The bankability index increased from 26% (2023) to 50% (2024), which directly reduces project risk when financing with banks and insuring the installation.
The top-performing variant of the series achieves 22.31% at 435 Wp, while its direct counterparts – Luxen LUXPOWER N5 and ZNShine ZXM7-UHLDD108 – reach 22.28%, and Solitek SOLID Blackstar reaches 22.27%. The small difference confirms the series' leading position in the 108-cell segment.
The double-glass construction ensures resistance to ammonia, saline mist, sand, and mechanical loads – which are important for industrial and agricultural installations. The bifacial design allows for additional energy generation from the back side when the ground reflectance (albedo) is ≥0.2 (light gravel, concrete, snow), which is particularly beneficial for ground-mounted and flat-roof installations.
- Efficiency of 21.3% is 0.7pp below the TOPCon 400-450W median (22.0%)
- At 212.8 W/m², this panel generates 7.4 W/m² less per unit area than TOPCon 400-450W median (220.2 W/m²)
- At -0.29%/°C, hot weather performance is typical for TOPCon 400-450W panels
- At 23.5 kg (1.5 kg above TOPCon 400-450W median of 22.0 kg), requires checking roof load capacity
- 80% bifaciality enables rear-side power generation, boosting yield by 4-12% on reflective surfaces
